Join the Brosnan crowd. Goldeneye is probably my favourite Bond, and Tomorrow Never Dies and World is Not Enough are close seconds. Just a shame he made Die Another Day.

Sean Connery is the best for me, he was the first after all and he spanned little less than half the series.
Second is Brosnan, he had a modern savvy and sensibility which really helped get me more interested in the series when I was younger.
If pressed, I would let Roger Moore take third, he always seemed more playboy than action type to me though.

After watching Goldfinger (probably the best Bond movie I've seen so far) and From Russia with Love I'm gonna have to go with Connery. Brosnan was pretty good, but he doesn't hold a candle to the original. Connery was just able to hold that badass with a load of charm and wit image the best. Though I do agree with the comment that Brosnan was the most "Bond-looking" of them all, but that may be an effect of me watching his movies first.
I always found Brosnan too slimey. I voted Craig because I'm not a big Bond fan. I enjoyed Craig's movies the most as he seemed more ready to get his hands dirty and didn't rely on outlandish gadgets. I find the oldest movies too difficult to enjoy as the action has become too outdated. Don't get me wrong I can appreciate a good womanising Connery too but the fight scenes and gadget use ruins it for me.
Sean Connery, classic bond, he is still the best by far, not that I don't like other bond films e.g. Goldeneye, Casino Royale, The Spy Who Loved Me, etc. but Moore films were too campish, Brosnan films at times couldn't decide if they were parodies or not, Craig films are a bit too Bourne, I can't recall Dalton and Lazenby was just awful.
Ian Fleming. Those books are the greatest pieces of trash reading. Bond, first and foremost a blank slate, is an office jockey who goes on interesting missions maybe once every year or so. He gets bored with his office job, jaded with field work, and barely escapes with his life when doing the latter (seriously, Fleming was not above having Bond survive by some unseen coincidence). At the same time, he goes to all kinds of nice places, drives nice cars, drinks, and shags beautiful women.
It is essentially post-war British vacation porn.

I don't see why Pierce Brosnan is so popular, I felt that he was complete shit as Bond. I love Connery, there was just something awesome about him in a way that just wasn't there for the rest of the Bonds, especially Brosnan. The only other Bond who comes close is Roger Moore. I haven't watched any of the movies with him in it recently, but the first Bond film I ever saw was The Man With the Golden Gun, which I loved.

This is so true, having read a couple of the books, he is the closest representation of Cdr Fleming's James Bond. The thing is, he's not supposed to be that good looking (how many of the film Bonds have a facial scar?!)imahobbit4062 said:

For me? Definitely not Sean Connery. He may be the first bond, but I wouldn't say he's hansome as bond should be. Big nose, hairy chest, bland short hair . . . yeaaaaah, no. My favourite is Peirce Brosnan, if only because I grew up with him.
