Poll: who is the best james bond?

I think Connery was a good Bond, but I don't like most of his movies. As a general rule I dislike films from that era and those particular ones feel very dated nowadays. Dalton was also a very good Bond, but again, his films weren't the best. Brosnan, good in Goldeneye and the first half of Tomorrow Never Dies, but he went downhill pretty quick. Moore was just plain silly. Craig had a strong debut, but Quantum of Solace turned him into some kind of Jack Bauer/Jason Bourne hybrid - an angry, muscular and ultimately faceless assassin rather than the charming, unflappable character that Bond should be.

If you could combine Connery's appearance with Dalton's demeanour and throw in the wit of Brosnan's Bond, I would think that would be the ideal.

I don't know why. But I really like Timothy Dalton. He seems really Bond-ish to me.

Sean Connery is a paragon of manhood with a voice that could quiet the... it could... that is to say... he's got a great voice, okay, shut up. Also, he's an internet celebrity.

The worst Bond's were Dalton (too tall) and Moore (too old).

The new guy has the look, and he seems dangerous enough, but the magic went out of the movies sometime about the time Connery stopped being in them. I have to say, though, what I saw of Casino Royale seemed good, an actual serious movie about a man with an insanely dangerous job. Not a Hugh Hefner wannabe who occasionally uses a deus ex machina car.

Also, I didn't notice, is he using the P99 in CR? Or did they go back to the old PPK?

Craig is the closest Bond to the original intention of Fleming, being cold, ruthless, and willing to kill without hesitation. There were no gadgets or anything of that sort, just Bond and his wits against his adversaries.

I liked Sean Connery untill Daniel Craig started his appearence since the James Bond he plays seems more "human" than the others but Sean Connery still is equally good when compared to Daniel Craig.

Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan.

Daniel Craig is an AWFUL James Bond. He's a good actor, don't get me wrong, but a good Bond he isn't.

I would've said Pierce since I grew up watching him play James, but after seeing Sean and how witty yet capable he was in his prime, I gotta say Pierce's are strictly B-movie level.

While Connery and Brosnen did a very good at being 007, Craig showed us a differnet type of Bond.

Well in Casino Royale, he shows an inexperinced Bond. (Not Craig being inexperinced being Bond, but Bond being inexperinced at his job.) He does this extremely well. Same goes for Quantam Of Solace.

You can't really compare Craig with someone such as Connery.

So in conclusion, all three did/do the job of 007.
