A Hermit's Cave
Here I was going to say: Peter Mandelson!!

Anyway, out of your choices:

Darth Vader - no, because he was repentant at the end, and Darth Sidious was the real big bad, even if many don't accept it.
Lord Voldemort - no, because he was a spoiled brat as a kid who never emotionally matured, slap him a couple times and he's fine... after a fashion.
Dracula - all he's after is a stonking great orgy.

So, I'ma go Sauron (though he's got his backstory... as mentioned).

These Dark Lords are most likely all borrowed a little from Sauron.
Well, I'm a LOTR fanboy so my vote is pretty biased.
Then again, Sauron is just Morgoth's apprentice or something like that.

There is only one Dark Lord, and He does not share power.

Sauron.

...Even if he got his ass kicked by an intelligent, talking dog.

I cannot participate in this for the obvious reason that the only real contender is left out. Ozzy Motherlovin' Osbourne!

Cthulu? Or maybe the dark lord hasn't been revealed yet?
Is Cthulhu really known as the Dark Lord?

I've heard he/she/it referred to as the unspeakable horror from the depths, the whisper from the darkness etc. But never really as the Dark Lord.

A toss-up between Sauron and Voldemort (wow, Google Chrome recognizes Voldemort, but tells me I'm misspelling something with Sauron) for me. However, Sauron wins in the end for me because he has a bit more presence to me. Voldemort was bad and all, but as others have said, his thing was hardcore racism. In the end it's also because he was given the whole Trust-Issues-Terry treatment in the end which is fine characterization, but isn't the burning furnace of darkness and hate that Sauron is.

Mira, from My Life as A Darklord. Her father was a Dark Lord, so it runs in the family.

Plus, shes a cute young girl, which is a nice change from the whole "old man" image that the dark lord title gets. Its sure to give her an advantage when gaining followers. You could call it Mira's edge.

How is this a question? Sauron is the only answer. Because Sauron is basically the Book of Revelations grade lucifer ALL THE TIME and with a constant presence in the real world.
