I say Noob.

i use Nub as self-satire, or simply a stupid joke.

Seriously, got a link to that video?
I don't know what the show is called... but I don't think it would be on youtube as its own scene, wasn't really youtube material if you know what I mean.
You mean it wasen't Grainy, annoying, derivitive, bland, stupid, loud, unfunny, and it diden't have My chemical romance blareing as it's soundtrack?!?

Harr harr, i'm so witty.

I say and type neither, because that's not something I say, but the correct pronunciation is the first poll option. Noob is after all a derogatory form of Newbie, not "Nubbie".

Noob.

New. Beginner.
Pronounced: Newb...
Actually they made two different versions

Newb means new, while Noob means one who is bad at the game but has played long enough to no longer be considered new.

Newb is technically a word these days, it's even in the Encyclopedia or something.

I agree that it?s pronounced noob, but if they want to say nub then let them.

Also I?ve never actually used the word noob myself.

iCarly? Yeah that show is awful.

I rarely use the word unless I'm joking. I don't say noob either, unless I'm joking.

I don't say n00b, it's just annoying, I might describe myself or something else as a newbie though.

Yeah iCarly (ugh) me and my friend use it in a joking matter going as far as to call the grenade launchers in Modern Warfare 2 "nub tubs".
According to Urban Dictionary though a "nub" is someone who has been doing something for a long time but still has the skills of a noob at it, sounds like me and every Mulitiplayer FPS I've ever played.
Ahaha I'm going to start saying that to piss people off. So far the only trick in my book is to say that I only use the Diesel Eagle because its American. And when they correct me I tell them eagles don't live in the desert, so they're stupid.

Okay the show is Icarly I searched for youtube videos and it was a match, I think its a show about internet culture but they're doing a shitty job at it. Not bad like, adults who try to be hip, but bad as in they're dong it on purpose to try and make new culture for the kids its aimed at.

well I think both sound stupid but n00b just makes you sound like a nerd. At the point where someone says something as simultaneously nerdy and fucking retarded as "nub" they become so unlikable that even nerds hate them.

I've either used nub or newb, I've rarely type it as noob.
Though in conversation me saying any iteration is incredibly rare, I always say scrub.

So, escapist, which do you say/type? Also if someone could identify the show that would help in my quest to murder the cast. I'm sure at least one of you watch these shows obsessively.
based on your description of the show, it sounds like it was "iCarly" this horrendous piece of trash Nickalodeon (sp) started airing, and for some reason, never stopped

It's pronounced noob. Anyone who pronounces it differently is wrong.
This. They are not a noob, a newbie, or anything like that. The only thing to call them is, "F-tard."

As far as I can tell from playing L4D online, it's mostly 12-15yo american boys who think that being able to push a button quickly gives them some kind of real world skill or status.

Haven't met a gamer over the age of 21 yet who's felt the need to denigrate anyone for being new to a game, so I really do have to assume it's an egotistical kids' thing.
