nope, i see maybe one person for every hundred that don't wear one..and usually it's an old adult who is wearing it. i have literally no use for a watch rather than it being uncomfortable on my wrist, i've never liked the feeling of it.

I wear mine, it's really useful. There isn't always a clock around and it's a nice accessory. If you think only old people wear watches, you, good sir, are an idiot.
Edit - Also, WAY more reliable than phones. It bothers me when people are talking to you and they start looking for their phone just to check the time.

what arrogant and misguided point of view, my wrist watch is like an extension of my hand! for example, including phones and game consoles, there are 7 clocks in the room with me right now and i'm STILL wearing my trusty wrist watch, i just don't feel right without it! it's a million times harder to tell the time when you're not wearing one of these bad boys!

With a cellphone, you have to whip it out to check the time. A wristwatch is right there.
In most ways, using your cellphone to keep the time is a step back, like having a pocketwatch without the chain.

Also, they look cool, unlike most cellphones, which look like cheap pieces of plastic, with the added bonus that you can show it off without looking like a douche. Also, phones break if you look at them hard enough, while a decent wristwatch can take pretty much enerything you throw at it.

I still try to wear my old analog wristwatch, but I found out about three years ago that the culinary field kinda frowns on any form of jewelery (for the same reasons as the medical field, see above.) I also wear a pocketwatch every so often when I go for that "Fancy" formal look.

I wear, one beats digging in my pocket for my cell phone. Some girl said to me once,"who needs watches I can just pull out my cell phone". I pointed out that a cell battery lasts for years and I can check by looking at my wrist while she was still trying to get her phone out of her tight pants...sorry got a little side tracked there. Also does anyone else hate how short the battery life on smart phones is. My old Nokia Brick would last a week without a charge and go through the washing machine.

I never (intentionally) leave the house without wearing my watch. Sure, I have my cellphone on me as well in almost all scenarios where I leave the house, but it just isn't the same - glancing at my wrist to see what time it is has become a conditioned reflex, and while my cellphone will tell me the time it isn't right there on my wrist, just a glance away. I have to actually pull it out of the holster I keep it in and press a button, and who has time for that?!

i have a wind up, skeleton watch (means you can see all the clockwork inside, and your wrist on the other side), and i am not really old. having a watch i just convenient, maybe not this watch specifically, but the point still stands

I used to, but my phone was much more convenient. Also, a watch gets in the way whenever I play an instrument.

Doctors and nurses wear watches.
Actually, no. They're not allowed to wear them.
Non-essential accessories aren't allowed, yes, but watches are. Otherwise, I would have massacred for it during my nursing stint.

Then again, perhaps you work at a hospital with that policy, which would make it a hospital-to-hospital matter as opposed to a national standard. Or maybe it is a national standard and I'm in a different country.

Either way, there are exceptions to the rule.

Dunno if if classifies as an actual watch but I wear a Sony Live View. Its a bluetooth accessory for my HTC Incredible that displays text messages, caller ID, mp3 controls, facebook, and many more bells and whistles.

I wear one (18 years of age). My parents gave it for my high school graduation. Its a SEIKO kinetic watch, so as long as I wear it and swing it around, it keep working(lest it break down, of course)

Only problem is that I always wear it on my left wrist, so that wrist is now slightly thicker than my right. maybe I should switch sometimes...

It's nice to know my splits when I run.
I agree, that is one of the main reasons I wear a wristwatch.
It also ensures that i get up on time, which is nice.

I have a binary watch that I wear every day and I'm 17 so it's not only old people, but I guess the fact of it being a binary watch makes it slightly different

Try checking your cell phone for the time in a crowded bus and get back to me. So much less awkward to use a watch.
