Poll: who would pay to use facebook or suchlike?

Absolutely not. That's ridiculous. Facebook and Myspace are just a pain in the ass. Myspace has caused more drama in the lives of old friends then our high school senior prom. Facebook wasn't so bad when it was only for college/university students but ever since they opened it up to everyone and their mother, it's just become more and more obnoxious.

First of all I'm going to say your friend is an idiot. I'm just throwing that out there.

Now, as far as money goes Facebook already brings in a lot of money from all the ads on the sidebars of the page. The site is a free service supported by revenue from advertising that is determined by site traffic, which is tied to the number of members that are using the site in the first place. It all evens out.

The only reason I decided to get Facebook was to stop the constant emails from various people basically saying 'GET FACEBOOK 'CAUSE IT'S AWESOME' (though I generally beg to differ for a variety of reasons).

With it's constant changing around of the homepage to see how many people they can annoy on a weekly basis, I really hate it, though I use it mostly for some of the applications which shamefully amuse me.

There isn't a hope in hell I would pay to use it, especially considering there are no people on there who are too important for me not to talk to on msn, the phone, or in person.
