Darth Vader. I like Nightmare better, but he really doesn't stand a chance against a guy who can crush a tank by looking at it funny.

hmmm well seeing as how in various comics it has shown magneto, create personal shields, mold the ground to his liking, affect gravity, rip metal out of someones body, oh and launch nuclear missles at people im going with him. at least until sephiroth hits him with supernova

Darth Vader, because the rest don't have the force powers nescessary to stop him CLOSING THEIR FUCKING WINDPIPE.

The only reason he couldn't do it to other Jedi was because they knew force techniques to stop it, none of those have received that particular brand of training now have they?

I may not like the character, but out of the list I get the idea that Sephiroth would win. The closest match-up would be with Darth Vader, but I think Sephiroth has the power to destroy a planet, and that gives him a slight advantage.
Fontaine would just be boned.
Nightmare etc. would be okay, but Sephiroth is extremely fast and can fly, which gives him an edge over slower characters.
Magneto's probably my favourite on this list, but I can think of him beating Sephiroth or Darth Vader.
Virgil can blow me.
Wesker's not written well enough to be actually good.
The Joker's a great character, but well... no meteor... That meteor gets all the points.
