Okay so the other day there was this poll about the Flood the replicators and the Borgs. So this actually got me thinking about who would win if the flood came to the mass effect universe.

So share your thoughts :)

Easy. The Flood prevail due to using their spores to convert other species into more Flood. When they can't do that, they die pretty easy to bullets as everyone who's every watched the Master Chief go is aware.

The Geth, on the other hand, are a purely mechanical race...one who come with PLENTY of bullets, and can't be converted by the Flood.

Geth in a cakewalk.

Geth, the flood need a living creature to be able to make more of themselves where the Geth can just build more of themselves.

i think this argument's pretty much wrapped up. Geth aren't able to be infected by flood.

HOWEVER
if all sentient life in the universe was Flood-ified, and they all took control of vehicles and weapons (you know, like they do), that's a lot of numbers. trillions of organisms against a race of robots with laser guns.. the only way we can know the outcome is if it happened in real life
which it WONT i hope :p

Geth, hands down. Anyone who says otherwise has no clue what they're talking about. The Geth are synthetics, non-biological being at most with slight biological attachments for efficiency with thought processes, reflexes, flexibility or the like. The Flood NEED lifeforms of complexity. Lesser creatures (small mammals, insects, etc.) are immune from infection. If it was just Geth vs Flood and the Flood had no fuel, all the Geth would have is an annoying cockroach problem.

Flood. Geth are a minority so they would have to face an endless horde of other races infected by the Flood controlled by an intelligent tentacle monster.

There is no way that the Geth would be able to kill all of the flood. On the other hand, the Geth can probably do well enough to stay alive. Stalemate with leanings towards the flood.

I think the flood because of what others have said about the rest of the galaxy being infected.

Also the flood does have a way to take control of machines so to speak. Remember 2401 Penitent Tangent from Halo 2? He was a machine but the Gravemind enslaved him and incorporated him into himself him somehow.

Also what about Mendicant Bias? The Gravemind pulled the old logic paradox on him and convinced him to switch sides in the forerunner-flood war. So if the Gravemind can pull it off on two incredibly complex A.I., what's stopping him from warping the minds of the simple minded Geth?

Yeah, gravemind like creatures in the flood are smart enough to manipulate the Geth just as easily as the Reapers. /thread, thanks for voting incorrectly.

Geth. They can build space ships. They can Orbitally bombard planets with out getting their hands dirty. From what I've seen, the Flood have next to no ship-to-ship combat skills, and thus would lose.

The flood's space combat consists of them stealing any form of space craft and crashing it into the enemy ship in order to infect it. In the case of the Geth however they would most likely crash and proceed to destroy the ship from the inside somehow. Not the most brilliant strategy, but nonetheless it's effective.

Remember the big space battle in Mass Effect at the End? I'm assuming it's something like that. The Geth could just start opening up at the Flood armada, the Flood, attempting to get the highest obtainable speed, would not attempt to change course. Now in the Mass Effect space battle thing, the Alliance and the Geth/Reapers both had a class of ships called Dreadnoughts (if I remember correctly). These ships were huge battle ships that were almost completely one or more guns, spanning the entire length of the ship. Once these opened up on the Flood, their ships would start getting ripped in half. Now I'm not big on the Halo backstory, but I don't think the Flood can survive in Space, and as they (again, to my knowledge) don't know how to fully operate a ship, would die for lack of Oxygen.

If a Geth ship was rammed, the ship would indeed be damaged, but the Geth, not needing air to survive or operate, would, for the most part, be fine and most likely be able to repulse the Flood from their damaged ship.

Sorry if any of that sounded mean, I don't mean it to.

Is Sovereign still with the Geth? If so then... well duh. Even so, I'm pretty sure the Geth would still win.

Well the flood have these spores which survive in space and pretty much only one of them can start an entire flood colony. and i think the flood can quite easily use space ships. the example is the covenant city/high charity which they controlled and sent towards the Ark.
i think if the flood infected every life-form in the galaxy b4 engaging the Geth i think they would have a chance.
