PLEASE RESPOND MATURELY!
Just to get this out of the way, I am not using ignorant as an insult. To be ignorant is to be uninformed and is not necessarily a bad thing. Now that we have that out of the way...
For some reason, sex has come to have this extremely strange status as being taboo for some or the greatest thing evar for others. Speaking from the point of view of someone who has had sex, I've come to realize that it really isn't deserving of all the hype it gets. It is a great way for two consenting lovers to express their feelings towards each other, and it is enjoyable. But it's not really anything that someone should feel proud or ashamed of, nor to be exploited or abstained from for reputation. What I want to know, especially for those who have partaken in sex, who do you believe is more ignorant in their preaching of sex to the masses: Those who call for abstinance or those who spread the idea that sex is the greatest thing ever?
Personally I believe that those who call for abstinance are worse. They make out sex to be this disgusting, shameful that it really isn't. I do believe that it should only be once you are ready, but if you think that you are in love before marriage and want to express your love, go right ahead. It is not the right of anyone to censor how you express that love. Though I know religion does preach abstinance from sex until marriage, and am not trying to make you go against your religion, as an atheist, and knowing there are many atheists, agnostics and other non-religious people, do not see the big deal in sex before marriage, aka sex without the goal of procreation. In response to the idea that it is to be safe from unexpected pregnancy and STDs, I find it humorous to quote Penn Gilette in his and Teller's show Bullsh*t in which he said "Being abstinant to protect from STDs and pregnancy is like never leaving your house to avoid being hit by a vehicle". I use a condom and last I checked, there are no little me's running around and I'm quite healthy both sexually and not-sexually.
*NOTE: I Might Have Gotten That Quote Slightly Wrong, But That's More Or Less The Jist Of It*
*SECOND NOTE: There is no "both" option because I honestly want to know which one you guys each think is more ignorant*
