I think if you agree not to have sex for the right reasons it's just fine, just don't base it on lies and propoganda. A tiny bit of research can be done by one self to clear most matters up.

And for those of you that choose abstinence good for you, good luck, oh and PS..... sex is awesome.

Those who talk about sex being 'the best thing ever' are usually younger and can be forgiven, as hormones are the driving force behind it. But when you have adults and government systems saying abstinence is the best thing and forgetting to educate people...well, I don't even have to point out how stupid that is.

There's actually a word for that, the Vagina Dentata, or castrating vagina. There was a time when young men were told folk stories about women with such an orifice, in order so scare them off from jumping into bed with random women (imagine how many little boys were kept awake at night with that fear). It has also appeared many times in the myiogynistic tradition which is so prevalent in Western literature up until modern times. It can be seen in various part of Edmund Spenser's epic poem The Faerie Queene for instance, you can find it if you really care to, but I don't suggest it because it's a horendous read.

I voted abstinence because they always have a reason for preaching this to kids. Do you honestly think they are trying to stop kids from getting STD's? what do they care? It is always a deeper reason than that.

Those who call for abstinence are the most poor people of the earth. Sure their right in some cases, such as waiting a little bit before having sex, but waiting 'till your married? Come on.. No one has that much time.. And once they do get married, it turns to hell afterwards if it doesn't work out.

While he's exagerrating a little bit, it's pretty obvious what he means. Abstinance only programs mean never having sex out of marriage. Put into context he's dead on.

Look at the Maslov hierarchy of needs and you will see that sex is right next to sleeping and eating, and all 3 are in my top 5 superhero team of stuff I simply love doing

Spreading the vision that sex is bad is saying something similar like breathing is bad cose you will use up the oxygen.

There is nothing wrong with sex and thanks to our future technology there is little to be afraid of consequences like unwanted babies or all the sex transmitted diseases.

Just to point out:

There is nothing wrong with abstinence itself if you for instance want to be a virgin till marriage and it is actually a thing that deserves respect, but that should be you own decision that one makes on his/her own and not something that was said in Sunday class or other freak-show.

Question to those who say its not the best thing ever:

Please enlighten me what is better? Not saying sex is best but its among things that you simply cannot rate, that are just essential and take first place, like in my example: sleeping, eating, music and some other shit

Well, it is if you're not a supernaturalist. If you believe that there's an omnipotent deity, then a miscarriage is an abortion by a deity, meaning that the all powerful being has been responsible for more abortions than all of humanity combined. Oh cruel irony.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Abortion is not murder, and I have never implied that it was. Unless you're an evangelical religious zealot, you would know that the planet is under heavy stress from the population.
Abortion is not murder, it's only a way of preventing the unnecessary excess use of our resources.

The people who call for abstinance tend to say. "Don't do it until your married", and then they drop the issue beyond that point except when using scare tactics like" you'll catch AIDS or another STD, this is true, but they say nothing good of the experience. The ones who are open about it are at least willing to admit that there are pros and cons to the issue. Scare tactics only makes teens want to try it for themselves, and the lack of education by the abstinance supporters only make the situation worse. I know that their are abstinance supporters that teach teens about sex, but the majority I have heard talk nothing of it, and humans will follow their nature no matter what anyone says
