Brilliant film and brilliant character. Obviously wouldn't be included on this list but still, good choice. Though it has to be said that Nicholas was channeling Adam West's batman anyway.

You know, now that I think of it, he was kinda. I'd say he was a mix of Adam West (Hilarity), Christian Bale (ARGH!), and the old cartoon Batman when he could still shoot people( Bang!).

And YES! Cage incorperated everything good those previous incarnations brought to the bat-cave. Why in my opinion he's the "wild card" that wins the best batman award.

Michael Keaton. Kevin Conroy had the best Batman VOICE, but Keaton seemed to be the best Batman.

Growing up in the days when Batman:TAS just started, Kevin Conroy's voice fit everything about the character. I love that there is a range to the voice, and Bruce sounds different than Batman. Christian Bale, in my opinion, doesn't have the right presence to be Bruce Wayne. I think of him as more of a spoiled rich kid, whereas in the TAS Bruce was portrayed as a suave distinguished high-society elite.

Also, I love and admire the work that Adam West did in the 60's Batman series. I loved watching that as a kid, but was never able to watch full story arcs since it was constantly switching channels and air times.

Adam West is a country gentleman. I saw him speak at a screening of the 1966 Batman! movie and I gotta say, he wears the mantle of nerd icon very well (and he's pretty funny for a guy in his 80's).

I love Kevin Conroy. To me he IS the batman. Others just try to be him. When i read the comics I read them in his voice (though it can be funny to read them in an Adam West voice or Christian Bale).

Vincent Price from the murder mystery The Bat (1959 talkie based off the 1926 silent). Not technically a Batman film it had stuff like the bat signal first that helped as the inspiration for Batman.
