Mario, out of the 3 characters he's been featured in more than just platform games. Dr. Mario and Yoshi's Egg are great puzzle games. Let's not forget the Mario Kart series. Yeah ok, the other 2 also had racing games, but they're no match for Mario Kart.

What about Crash Team Racing? I myself enjoy that much more than Mario Kart.
