Hellsing for me. Automatic belt-fed anti-tank rifle akimbo against a vampire nazi zeppelin. Yes, that's a thing. And it pales compared to some of the shit Alucard pulls.

Van Hellsing. Not the Hugh Jackman version; the Anthony Hopkins version, from 'Dracula'. Absolutely brilliant.

Definitely D. He's a dhampir, which makes him incredibly bad-ass. He has incredible focus, managing to kick ass even while in incredible, normally debilitating, pain. One of his hands is sentient or something weird like that. Also, he's sexier than all the other vampire hunters combined.

Vampire Hunter D for the win. You'd have to read the books to truly understand his epic badassness, though some are hard to get through. Hideyuki Kikuchi is a master storyteller, but I feel occasionally something gets lost in the translations.

Wasn't he German? I always assumed he is, although I don't think it's stated anywhere. And anyway, I can't call him a "death machine" the number of vampires we know he killed...is none. If we include his entire team...it's still no vampires. Sheesh, these guys suck. OK, maybe they managed to kill a Sabbat shovelhead or two but I'd hardly call this an accomplishment. And yeah, Bach possibly did kill more than that but we don't see it.

I'd even go as far to say that he and his team aren't terribly competent - Chastity, really? She truly is the master of stealth and blending in. OK, although I admit - being able to pull a friggin' katana out of a thong is impressive but she doesn't hide as well. And the other hunters after Ash? Yeah, talk about not blending in - a guy obviously surveying the club and obviously not out clubbing. And his plan was to...put a steak through Ash's heart in the middle of the club. Assuming he managed to get Ash...what then? People freak out, police gets called, the guy is still charged with murder. At most, he might actually...turn Ash to ash but otherwise nothing would have actually happened - Ash gets declared "dead", then Isaac pulls a few strings and his childe walks free, although possibly having to relocate somewhere he isn't known.

I admire the guy for having some actual True Faith and also the Society of Leopold does manage to be threatening, but none of this was actually shown.
To be fair, Bach is a big enough deal that LaCroix already knows about him long before the PC meets him; given how important the Masquerade is, that presumably means that Bach has survived for quite a long time with the Camarilla actively trying to kill him. He must have successfully bumped off a few vampires in his time to manage that.

Wasn't that because his family was active for ages, not so much just him?

Actually, put Ming-Xiao in there, her and hers killed lots, didn't they? Excepting her outfit and make-up, very silly.

...

Oh, Blade of course. The comic book movie industry had died on films like the Phantom and Batman and Robin. Wesley Snipes brought it back.

*Shrugs* The guy's pretty old. Whatever the case, he must have been kicking for quite a while when some vampires sorely wanted him dead. He might not have been the badass of all badasses, but he was doing what he did for quite a while without getting killed, which is an achievment on its own.

Raze from Underworld. All those werewolves were pretty badass, but Raze was my favorite.
Werewolves are a lot more interesting when they can shift at will.

Sounds reasonable, unless he was being run by someone else.

Oh, and his lot did catch Ash, so there's that.

Gotta' be D.

He rides around the medieval Europe future-scape on his robot horse, killing vampires (some of whom are ghosts or own cyborg brontosauruses) with his sword and eating magic with the face on his hand (which doubles as his sassy sidekick). He is also the sexiest thing to ever live, such that everyone who sees him immediately wants to sleep with him, regardless of gender or orientation (of course, he's never interested because emotions are for losers).

Peter Cushing FTW! His numerous Van Helsing performances have always been among my favorites. His acting is such that you're totally convinced this guy knows everything there is to know about vampires and he's gonna goddamn slay 'em!

Abraham Lincoln of course. He won a civil war with his beard, he can sure as well whoop the asses of a few vampires with it too.

He is the third of the generation of Bachs who was after LaCroix. Yes, he should have heard of him - at least through the gandfather and father, I suppose. Also, LaCroix is a bit...incompetent - it doesn't surprise me Bach managed to hunt him down. Furthermore, the Society of Leopold is quite a big name - the Camarilla would know of him but I doubt they'll go out of their way to declare war on him and the society by extension - they have much better things to do with their nights. It also works quite well - just lay low and the threat passes.

Bach is good, though - I admit that, his approach to taking down Grout was to set the entire house on fire. He show much more competence (and fanaticism) than the rest of the bunch. Still, I maintain that we haven't seen him kill any vampires or know of the group offing any. Again, Bach probably did kill some, however, were they a couple of shovelheads or a battalion of Tremere we don't know.

He is not a vampire hunter per say but Harry Dresden from The Dresden Files. He is a wizard but he has a special hatred for vampires. He killed a buliding fall of about 200 vampires despite the fact he knew it would mean a magical world war between the vampires and the white council of wizards. In the end

In one night he destoryes an entire species of vampire. Wipes them from the face of the earth. One species down 2 to go.

You mean three to go, there is also the Jade court that Shiro mentioned. Although, Harry would have somewhat of a hard time, seeing how they've never met.
