I'm pretty sure this poll was made with the express purpose of getting the most one-sided answers possible.

Here's some banter from Resident Evil 4:

Ramon Salazar: I've sent my right hand to dispose of you.
Leon S. Kennedy: Your right hand comes off?

Gee, that's a tough one, but after careful consideration, I think I'll go with Bioware.

Capcom is a fighting game company (and Megaman, I guess).
BioWare is an RPG company.

How is this even a comparison?

First off not a versus thread, a preference thread. We're all a fan of at least one of either Bioware's or Capcom's games, no shame in that only pride. Question is which one do you prefer?

Is it:

A)Capcom with their insane and wacky stories and plots, sure it's not like a movie script but the oddity and weirdness is what we love about their games(zombies made by super soldier serum, a boy whose placed in a robot body to stop a crazy professors robot army)

or B) Bioware with their mastery of video game writing, story telling, depth, and characterization.

It's kinda hard for me to choose, on one hand I have a company that has made my favorite video game/cartoon character (Megaman) franchise and on the other I have a company that has pretty much written the book on video game storytelling. I'm gonna go with both, it's a safe option for me

**This is not by merit of work just which one you like. yes, Bioware pretty much dominates the storytelling of video games but this YOUR opinion not others. Which do YOU like, not believe is the best. Just because some big shot says vanilla is better than chocolate doesn't stop you from saying you like chocolate. Just because Bioware has good stories doesn't mean you can't like Capcom, I always thought the Megaman series had pretty good stories.
I've said this before and I think it begs repeating
Stories and writing are not the same thing.

Bioware has made a crap load of my favorite games because I value writing above all else but their stories are sort of bland at best and full of holes and ridiculous ret-cons at worst.

Capcom on the other hand usually has very...Urm... interesting stories but writing that comes off like their writing staff consists entirely of people they found on the street holding signs that said "Will write for food"

Capcom is responsible for the all time greatest example of good story bad writing I've ever played. Resident Evil 4

And Bioware just put out the best example of bad story good writing Dragon Age 2

for stories it's Capcom for writing it's Bioware

Both are pretty horrendous, though Capcom wins with pure style points.

I voted Capcom just for the fuck of it.

Hey, atleast they're better than Team Ninja.
Now THERE'S an interesting thread. Capcom stories vs. Team Ninja stories. Which makes you cringe less?

Ah, I forgot about that. That would explain why Issun was so annoying. As another poster mentioned, Capcom tends to do good stories with bad writing.

As a massive BioWare fan since olden times, I'll have to go for BioWare. Whilst the stories may not be the most original, the writing is always of high quality. And also because I don't really rate Capcom for their in-game stories, I view them very much more as a fighting game developer and, although SSF4 is awesome in it's own way, the story/writing is not a plus point.

Capcom games have a story? Why wasn't I informed of this sooner?
Of course:
Uh oh! Looks like Dr. Wily is at it again. Go stop him, Megaman!
Of course I'm just reaching for the bottom of the barrel there. I couldn't resist.

With all the Bioware fanboys here, it is pretty obvious that they would take the cake.

I have to say Capcom. I liked Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions, the few Resident Evil games I've played, and Dead Rising 2 is pretty fun, even when the horrid mechanics. Bioware games, well... Dragon Age was torture to get through, boring story, and the combat... erm... well, I don't remember much of that because basically all I did was click on an enemy and go back to watching TV to stay awake. Mass Effect I've tried to get into, but it is the same bland and boringness that Dragon Age was filled with, so I can't really see it as anything more than a waste of the $5-10 (maybe $15) I spent on it...

Any company whose games have the following line:
"I should've been the one to fill you your dark soul with liiiiiiight!"
Automatically wins, hands down.
honestly bioware, just kill yourselves.

Capcom's stories are just a bit too anime-ish for me, and the ones that aren't just weren't very enjoyable, storywise atleast, the DMC's and RE 4&5 were pretty fun. BioWare has made Mass Effect, KotOR and Shattered Steel, so hey, easy choice for me atleast.
