Poll: Why all the Call of Duty Hating?

its a really generic shooter that doesnt innovate in any way, i like to think my taste in games has grown past that

OP you seem to have missed that the mass of hate topics is aimed at MW2 - not the entire series. The other games are great but that one is just retarded.

Everything was turned into unbalanced easy mode with that game turning good players and bad players all into average players.

I'd love to mention something they did right in that game but honestly I got nothing worth mentioning

I don't hate call of duty i love COD 1 2 4 WaW
I hate modern warfare 2 because it brings nothing new to the fancies or to gaming
just tiny tweaks but still people love it

The Call of Duty games are all good, it's just Modern Warfare 2 didn't live up to what the fans expected, and in all fairness I personaly think Infinity Ward live up to it either. On a lighter note, Black Ops looks sweet. I should know, I saw a portable mini-gun in multiplayer...

And i don't hate it, i think Black Ops is going to be the best yet.

Cod4 and WaW were ok rentals for me. Mw2 was terrible though.

I had affections for every Call of Duty, until the last one.


It ruined the balanced, I went along with it at first, then I saw it became more and more broken as I ranked up, up to the point I'd only have mess around matches with my mates.


I've started playing Modern Warfare 1 now instead of MewTwo. And to be honest, I don't regret it.

I agree with the last sentence, because it looks to balance it out with the credits system...

Hate it. MW2's campaign was a joke, and the multiplayer is broken *still*. It's not like COD4 which had a fantastic single player experience as well as some of the best FPS multiplayer around.
Also, Treyarch has never made a good Call of Duty game. WaW was decent, but Big Red One and Call of Duty 3 were shocking. It'll be up to this next title to prove me wrong, which I haven't ruled out. Still wary because there is no beta, and when it comes out the multiplayer will be buggy as hell, but whatever. Cup is half full.

Iunno, I just like it. I chose the third option 'cuz I don't exactly LOVE it, but I don't hate it at all. It's just a spankin' good game franchise/series/whatever in my mind.

I just don't like the MW multiplayer. People flipping out over kill/death ratios, which weapons your "allowed" and stupidity like that. CoD 5 was a nice break, I can see why people didn't like going back to WWII but it was a great game.

used to really like the games but they're just boring now and i don't like paying 80$ (triple-A games cost seventy bucks in Canada plus 13% tax) every year for a new call of duty game.

Here are some other reasons:
-i wouldn't wipe my ass with the script for any of the CoD games
-no dedicated servers in mw2
-exclusion of zombie mode in mw2 AND black ops (fine they're re-releasing the old maps)
-15$ for a map pack
-horrible matchmaking

I loved CoD 4, but I hated MW2. Mainly, I hated the other players. I get stereotyping and all, but the majority really are whiny little shits.

Also, the level designs sucked.

And it was horribly unbalanced.

And the single player was pretty shitty.

OT: I absolutely love it, but, yes, MW2's multiplayer has issues. Huge issues.

Still, it's a great SP, and, by the looks of it, Black Ops will fix the multiplayer. So, it's looking good.

I've loved Call Of Duty until Modern Warfare 2, anyone who thinks that game is perfect and has nothing wrong with it obviously has never played anything else than samey Xbox FPS franchises, that have been done before and done better.
