They are not evil..Only someone who had never lived with them would say that because like the OP said, thats how they are always portrayed.EightGaugeHippo said:Im alergic to cats. I dont hate them tough. But they are slightly evil.
I have lived with cats before. I have had to look after them while their owners where away. (this was before I knew I was alergic) but the are sly, cunning, mysterious ect. Traits I would usually compare to that of a bond villian.ThatPurpleGuy said:They are not evil..Only someone who had never lived with them would say that because like the OP said, thats how they are always portrayed.EightGaugeHippo said:Im alergic to cats. They can be devious, yes but certainly not evil. I have 5 of them, all of them have their own traits and I would never have it any other way. For the record I love all animals, including dogs but cats are really something special to me.
The cat hatin' rednecks like the OP describes are not uncommon unfortunately. These neanderthals are actually intimidated by something that they can't instantly dominate, hence the hate for cats. Notice these sorts of people always own creatures like bull-terriers?? The ugliest, most stupid of all dog breeds, just fitting for the 'cat hating redneck neanderthal'.
Thats the great thing about cats. They are extremely contempt. As long as you keep them fed and a place to sleep, they will be happy. As far as being covered in hair, there are plenty of short hair breeds that lose no hair at all. They are also the cleanest animals, often mine will clean themselves just after my grubby hands have given them a pat lol. They can also be trained to shit in one spot from an extremely young age.summerof2010 said:I'm not really into pets in general, honestly. All the caring for them and cleaning them (and everything the freaking touch) just doesn't seem worth it for the single-minded, fickle affection that I barely get to even experience because I'm so busy doing the former. In fact, when you do get that affection, it can even go wrong, and you just end up damp or sore or covered in hair! ...or a combination of the three. This applies to all pets, IMO, that the payoff you get is proportional to the effort you have to put into their care, but that the effort always outweighs the payoff.
Nonetheless, my girlfriend has an insane hatred for cats that I find unreasonable. I actually like cats, and other animals -- it's just taking care of them that irks me.
Ummm... yes they do. They do a lot. I've been over my friend's house, he has a cat, and it always bites me for no reason.DuX1112 said:Dogs bite people. Cats do not bite people. Yet people "love" dogs, but are "unsettled" by a cat's autonomous ways.
Conclusion: people are weak, malicious, and selfish little bastards. Those "unnerved" by a cat's free will quite possibly have a problem dealing with their own.
Btw, I love both cats and dogs, and virtually every other animal (if it isn't super ugly, and even then...)
Yeah sorry, the "cat hatin redneck" thing wasn't aimed at you, just what the OP was referring too. Sorry if there was any confusion.EightGaugeHippo said:I have lived with cats before. Listen, as I said before I do not hate cats and that is what the topic is about "Why all the hate on Cats?"
I think cats are cool.
I think bond villians are cool.
Do you see where Im going with this?
Well duh, they happen to be cats, material possessions aren't in their meowcabulary.Polyg0n said:It is also next to impossible to teach cats respect towards other peoples belongings.
