Poll: Why are you buying Black Ops?

Not buying it because of the hype. I don't mind the series, I can have fun playing them with a few friends, but I'm not good at fps games so I usually leave them alone. They are fun, but a game where multiplayer is the only reason to buy it I only see myself getting owned a lot. I didn't buy MW2 for the hype about it, if only to be the only remaning person on Earth who didn't have a copy. With Black Ops I simply don't care.

I'm not getting it. That said, if it did fall into my lap from out of the sky I would play through the single player mode because that is usually entertaining and decently constructed. Then I would trade it in for something I actually wanted.

I'm buying it because I've always enjoyed the CoD singleplayer campaigns. Though I'm very unsure about getting it for the PC or for my PS3... If only there was a list of pro's and cons somewhere or something D:

There are several reasons I am Buying Black Ops. I really hadn't planned to but they've done so much right that I will give it a try.

First if all Nazi Zombies is back which kicks Spec-Ops ass any day.

Second they've removed most of the bullshit from the multiplayer like killstreaks creating killstreaks, Juggernaut and Stopping power, deathstreaks, Commando, Sonic Boom/Fireworks/ Danger Close.

Also the campaign at least has an excuse for being a James Bond game since it about BLACK OPS.

If they play consoles they're probably lying, seeing as most console players immediately grab the latest thing, which I guess is understandable, try find an match on anything other than the latest Halo or CoD game.

If they play PC they may not be, seeing as there are a lot more options for games.

What I mean is most of those who often play consoles will undoubtedly buy it.

Halo Reach is out. That's my reasoning. I've got my shooter-quota filled for awhile. Maybe once the game hits $20 I'll consider checking it out, as it looks pretty good. But I'm fine with Reach.

The zombies mode is most tempting, but not enough to make me rush out and get it full price.

It is actually very easy to find a Halo 3 or COD: Modern Warfare/World At War match online, so I doubt that anyone is lying for that purpose. I played some Halo 3 online about a week or so ago for a few matches. Only took about 2 minutes to find a match, and my connection speed is terrible.

Not getting it.

It was good before everyone started calling it CoD (so about Call of Duty 2), and even then I always preferred the first.

Pre-ordered around a month ago with my friend.

We laughed hysterically at the first release trailer, commening on how we'd never buy it.
A week later we pondered it again.
Another few days and we decided to pre-order it, expecting a game as bad as modern warfare.
We were kind of excited to tear it to shreds and see how many more bugs could be fit into one game.

Although a lot of recent anouncements made it more interesting.
The removal of stopping power and juggernaut.
Quick scoping getting nerfed.
Shotguns as primary.
Prone diving and cool down.
Although I have to admit gungame sounded great to me.
As an avid CS player, I've wanted a proper remake for ages, and Black Ops seems like it's going to do a good job.

MW2 was broken so i have been sent back to COD4, which is really starting to bug me -.-

Black Ops seems to be MW2 but fixed and perfected, so hopefully it should be good.

Will not get it.

Treyarch has with WaW proven that they're only good for releasing a horrible, broken mess of a game. Yes, WaW was cool, but they forgot rule #1 of immersion.
No invisible walls in open fucking doorways!
Well, yes, you have an enemy spawn in there... but that house surely could provide some much-needed cover from grenades nd bullets and the like.

Shoddy game design like that... no... never. WaW does clearly top my list of "stuff I deeply regret paying for".

As such, why on earth would I entrust them with more of my money?
