The commercial for it had It's Just a Shot Away playing.

That was when my mental shielding which had prevented me from even thinking about buying the game failed.

NOW I NEED IT!

I'm not. I'm not interested in multiplayer, nor am I interested in torture sequences, harsh language, splattering blood, or indeed, a war shooter.

I'm waiting to have enough money to buy Civilization V.

No matter how bad the game, I will support this franchise to my dying breath.

Will not get it.

Treyarch has with WaW proven that they're only good for releasing a horrible, broken mess of a game. Yes, WaW was cool, but they forgot rule #1 of immersion.
No invisible walls in open fucking doorways!
Well, yes, you have an enemy spawn in there... but that house surely could provide some much-needed cover from grenades nd bullets and the like.

Shoddy game design like that... no... never. WaW does clearly top my list of "stuff I deeply regret paying for".

As such, why on earth would I entrust them with more of my money?
*Sigh* some people can't get over the past can they?

Correction! The song is called "Gimme Shelter" by The Rolling Stones.
(Also, quotes rather than italicizing, since it's written as a rule somewhere, or something)

OT: All the shooters I own have gotten stale, so I need something new to play around with until the next big thing or I start having fun with my other shooty games again.

My total bro of a friend pre-ordered me a copy when he did me a solid by picking up my Red Dead Redemption pre-order while I had Scarlet fever, so I didn't have much say in the matter.

Suffice to say, it looks to be wrapping up nicely. Wager matches will have to be something I try.

No need for apologies.
I'm always in the mood for a little Halo 2 reference (;

Agreed, though it's best if you pull together a really rag-tag group of mates for the authentic zombie experience (i.e me, a mate who'd pumped masses of hours into world at war and another mate who doesn't play many videogames to begin with...lulz were had).

I enjoyed some of the earlier, world war two-focused titles (played through 2 and WAW, I own 3) but because I don't like modern-militarized fps'es I wasn't all that interested in the modern warfare titles, so now that Call of Duty's going to a time that's closer to world war two than the conflict in Made-up-Iraqistan, has: exploding RC cars, famous political figures of the time fighting off the undead and what looks like a pretty kick-ass campaign and multiplayer I'm seriously considering making the purchase.

I'm getting it because my friends are moving to it, and it'll be the only game we play together.

I'm looking forward to playing a balanced game that emphasizes fun instead of realism.

the campaign looks absolutely ASTOUNDING this time around. world at war's campaign was pretty good, but i felt it could have been better with the crazier shit that happens in modern warfare, and that looks to be true. i only hope there arent too many vehicle sections, cuz i dont like vehicle sections.

the single player was wonderfully over the top yet plausible.
Yeah...wait, what? How was that at all plausible? I mean it was fun, but in no way plausible.
Plausible because given the right circumstances, it is possible. Very highly unlikely to obviously.

Where's the option for peer pressure?

I'm currently boycotting Activision, so unless someone steals it for me I won't be picking up a copy. Not a new one, anyway.
