Poll: Why did YOU vote for Mojang AB?

i voted for obsidian this round and epic last round
I love minecraft
but both other developers have made more than one great game AND some of those have actually been finished

i wish mojang well in this competition, i personally don't think it deserves to beat the developers it has

I really don't care, so I didn't vote. I do follow the voting with very mild curiosity, though.

But comparing a company that has made one game with one that had made thousands doesn't make any sense.
And totally different kinds of companies as well.

I think it's because almost everyone in the escapist loves them. They honestly aren't better than any of these companies if you think about it. Most of the people on these lists have delivered completed projects and have made several games. Meanwhile the only thing Mojang has created is an incomplete game with an unknown finish date. It's a really awesome game and it winning a couple matches was fine and all but still. Media molecule should have gotten farther than them what with making two finished games that are also about creating anything and everything.

It was always up against developers that I had a personal hatred for

I hate all it's competition
They have all made at least one game that I hate.

And I have no feelings either way about minecraft.

Must not be fond of any games from any company anywhere if you detest Nintendo.

Since...they kinda...you know...popularized the industry and have continually pushed it forward.

D-Pads, Controllers with Joysticks (not just Joystick Controllers), Rumble Packs...motion controls (not that I like them).

Pretty much the entire industry has been motivated and endlessly chasing after Nintendo.

I don't love all their games for sure but to hate them is kind of like hating water. It's sort of important if you like everything or anything else.

I only ever bought a game cube to play Tales of Symphonia

I don't have a nostalgia factor for Nintendo, when I played Ocarina of Time (that's their best game right?) I thought it was nothing special. (mostly because I played it in 2005 but quality is ageless right?)

The reason I hate them is for what I know they do and that's re release the same games over and over [sub]and over and over and over [sub]and over and over and over again[/sub][/sub]

And the fact that the Wii exists doesn't exactly help endear them to me. In fact that almost cancels out all the good they did inventing the analog stick.

I understand that their existence is a positive thing. I don't wish they never existed I just wish they would stop.

I didn't vote for them except when they went against Epic. Nothing against Epic, but I haven't played Gears or Bulletstorm and don't intend to. They still made one of my favorite nostalgic PC titles though. Minecraft is nice, but it isn't as nearly good as the Tales series from Namco, everything Nintendo has made, or the awesome RPGs from Obsidian (such as New Vegas or Mask of the Betrayer).

I voted for Mojang because I like the company better than the other choices? I don't really see that up there...

Can't stand having to chose between bioware and bethesda, but those two companies and Mojang are my favorites.

My question is how the heck bungie got so far when they've been going downhill for years...?

I'm voting against them. They haven't released a single game, they shouldn't even fucking qualify. Let lone get past Nintendo.

I voted Mojang because after they f*cked up my bracket in round one, they were the first option on my screen, and I wanted to get to the next matchup. I'm bitter, and won't try and deny it.

Combination of different things...
Nintendo - Actually, I may have voted for them, I don't remember.
Namco Bandai - Don't really know who they are.
Epic Games - Gears of War was meh, only the first was on PC, and they stabbed PC in the back.
Obsidian - Only game I've played by them was New Vegas, and it wasn't that great.

Looks like they are going up against Valve next, and Valve has my vote.

I voted for Mojang because this whole competition relies on voter's opinions. There is no skill like there is in basketball. I voted for Mojang because I knew that people here liked them a ton and that I would get, basically, free points from them.

I'm in this to win the prizes, not to vote for my favorites.

Basically the first option, but with a caveat.

In the last year, I felt that they have done more for me than any of the developers it has gone up against. Now, maybe when it hits Valve I'll vote Valve, but Nintendo hasn't done anything for me recently, and neither has any of the other competitors that Mojang has bumped up to.

They aren't the best all time, but maybe they are for the last year.

I didn't vote for Majong. I felt that its competing developers, notably Nintendo and Epic, had done more for gaming and thus established themselves as better developers. Majong has good potential to do cool stuff but all they have right now is the skeletal Minecraft which represents a game that is only fun if you project into it. I know lots of people enjoy that but its not enough structure for me. I can see the appeal but I don't think developing a single game negates the decade of influence from Epic or Nintendo.
Lots of people here disagree and think Minecraft is the best thing since sliced toast to an almost scary level. No, you cannot have Minecraft's babies!

I voted Mojang because despite all of its flaws and Notches relaxed attitude towards Minecraft I believe that as a company they will probably be one of the next great developers. What they have been able to do with eight employees (and that is only recently) and over 1,000,000 play testers is impressive.

I am yet to vote for Mojang AB seeing as how they have only made 1 game so far and its not really that great when compared to the past and present accolades of their competitors.
