Probably because not everyone has the same opinion as you, and can like what they wish.
While you may not like Superman, or find him boring, others can feel the opposite way, and when a lot of people feel one way, the thing becomes popular. In this case, a lot of people like Superman.

I'm not the only person who thinks superman is boring and stupid! Huzzah!

OT: I think people like boring things because they're safe and unlikely to offend the average person.

Because no one has any high expectations of boring things, and the slightest positive thing gets glorified.

For the same reason clichés become clichés? A bunch of people used them, it didn't piss them off, and they never stopped using them until someone like you stood up and said "HEY, YOU'RE DOING THIS SO MUCH THAT IT IS ANNOYING ME"

Hey, the idea of God isn't boring - just a little crazy.

Superman's just a prick though.

I fail to see the logic in you're statement
It's almost like he is trying to troll with that opening statement.

OT: Well it's because different people have different tastes in things, I htink that should be rather obvious.

I don't see how you can thnik Superman is boring considering the sociological aspect towards him, to whit: He is seen as protecting the same AMerican Way that would easily see him deported for being an illegal immigrant.

Because (fixed) reading about someone who can't lose and/or is immortal is interesting.
There is more ways to think about then just that, for example the story behind what caused them to become immortal, the responsibility that they now have, how they treat there status.

Open you're mind. See these things from a different light.

Well aside from the obvious that people have different tastes, Characters like superman become popular because they're boring, they don't anything really controversial about them that divides people. A lot of people love boring invincible heroes. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/InvincibleHero?from=Main.BoringInvincibleHero]

Well i agree and understand that a lot of people like superman, but you simply cannot tell me honestly that they are interesting in comparison with other superheroes. Same goes for christian God any one of greek gods are more developed than christian God and north or egyptian gods are interesting too.

Good question, why did so many people love Avatar?
That i can answer. It is natural just like a dog or a cat always catches lights, they're stupid. I am sorry for the rudeness, but i am just angry that i payed just to see pocahontas again and that most of the people saw it even more times.

Because no one knows better. Everything and anything awesome is obscure; Actual law of physics, kids.

I don't think he was talking about the idea, he was talking about God himself. He was saying an omnipotent God like mine (Can't say ours, I don't know you) with all the power in the Universe is less boring than the much more specialized and flawed Greek and Norse gods. Hell, even I, a Christian, agree. The Christian God is bland as all hell.

my troll sense is tingling...

*Ahem* its called opinions. Everyone has a bunch of them, and they're all different.
Thats why likes Superman, while you dislike Superman: Because you have different opinions about Superman.

Do you understand now? good.

*sigh*
