Option 6:

You could, you know, choose not to hate people based on their television preferences...
I take that one.

I'm just getting sick of the Fanart...the scary, scary fanart.
Yeah, but if that was your logic path, rule 34 would make you have everything.
Oh, I'm not talking about Rule 34 here.

I'm talking about THIS [http://www.pixietrixcomix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=230&start=4095]

Don't worry, it just a thread about funny pictures.

Then a brony derailed it. Keep going till the last page on 279.

Also, I'm yen sid on that Thread.
I dunno, maybe I'm a sick fuck but I really see no problem with that...

...Whhhhhhhhy?

*Sit in a corner with a dark cloud over him* No body see the darkness...Nobody see the darkness...nobody see the darkness.

Option 6:
I'll stop being a dick about it when the pony cultists stop flaunting their love in places where it doesn't belong. Seriously, THEY'RE the reason they're patronized so much, it's not really the people who are annoyed by the bronies that are causing problems. Why is it that they can act this way on the internet but we can't act like dicks?
Because being a dick is being a dick. At least on the Escapist, that's very much against the rules, and one can expect to be moderated for such behavior.

What harm are bronies causing in "Flaunting their love"? Where are they causing problems? They have a large presence, I'll give you that, but the worst they are doing is going, "Hey, I like this show. I am going to have my pony avatar and would like to discuss ponies if given the chance."

This is my problem with brony haters- there really isn't a good reason for them to hate, except that they chose to dislike the show. Usually for the "men shouldn't watch little girl shows" or "Its too mainstream" reasons.

Give me a good reason to hate My Little Pony, and a good example of bronies actually being harmful.
I never said I hated MLP, I never said that the Bronies were causing any harm. I just find the entire MLP fanbase to be the most annoying things in the world, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person that thinks that way. Are you seriously saying that there is nothing to hate with this fanbase? They are absolutely perfect? ........Okay

I dont hate them but I voted for option 4. To me they seem like cross between furries and hello kitty fans. I wouldnt really mind that EXPECT THAT THEY ARE FUCKING EVERYWHERE, EVEN RIGHT NOW, RIGHT HERE, WATCHING, JUDGING, BEING HAPPY. I aint really mad, yet.

The fandom completely exploded and spread all over the internet, now constantly creating threads on various forums. To be honest, I liked it more when the love for the show was limited to the website that created the craze. Now it's just another annoying fanbase to deal with everywhere on the intrawebs.

Can't say I really hate bronies though, I just wish they were less vocal about it.

I don't hate them. For the most part, they're just being attention seeking pricks.

'Ooh look at me, I'm so quirky I like this show that's targeted and marketed towards little girls despite being a grown man'

Lol, they're all gonna feel pretty silly about the whole thing in a few years.

What's boring? I still enjoy things. I just keep my fantacism to my self and don't go into motherfucking denial when ever something is done in my beloved series/franchise that I don't like.
I don't know what you're talking about with the denial thing ... I don't think I've ever seen that in the Brony fandom. Are you talking about something specific?

But yes, I understand keeping it to yourself, and we would do that, but the thing is that the whole Brony fandom is a lot less about the show itself and a lot more about the community, the fan OC and reactions and discussions and so forth, which makes it ... somewhat difficult for us to keep it to ourselves.

Option 5: Because they're annoying and childish, and cheesy and f**k-all stupid! Why here? WHY?! Don't you have some special fanboy-drool forum to go to and discuss this?! Justin Bieber fans were quick to catch-up that nobody but themselves is slightly interested in teenage transvestite jailbait, so they created their own forums where they could spit all the fanboy/girl bullshit they wanted without being reminded by reality that they're stupid! Why can't you people do the same? What is it about the Escapist that makes it such a great place to flaunt your metrosexual tendencies, I don't understand it... Just leave us alone, please!

Wait, Whovian? Whovian what now? People, stop forming factions based on television shows! Sure, feel free to discuss the show with other people who enjoy it; that's fine. There's no need to feel like you're part of any kind of group or 'community' though! It wierds people out and creates these situations where threads like this can come into existence, because people start to dislike you based on what seems to be excessive fandom!
I was just going off what I've heard fans of Dr. Who call themselves, kinda like Trekkies. And honestly, by definition, a group is "A number of people or things that are located close together or are considered or classed together" and a community is, by one definition, "A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals". "Bronies" fits both of those definitions, so the words apply to the group. Also, of course we're an excessive fandom, but that's just because we haven't found (what we consider) the happy medium between silent and louder than fuck.

Bronies are essentially a sub-culture of furries.
Not that I've got a problem with that (whatever floats your boat, etc) but you can see why some people would take exception.
I'm not going to deny that some of us are furries because that would be an obvious lie, but, furries scare the shit out of me. I'm not a furry, but I'm willing to hang out with furries because the ones I've met prefer keeping to themselves. Brony does not mean furry, although I can understand why you'd believe that. It just means fan of the show.

I don't hate them, I just wish that I didn't have to see it everywhere(fandom or hate). It doesn't help that one of my friends wouldn't shut up about it for about a month, it was unbearable.

I dont really hate 'bronies' (I despise such neologisms, pardon me) but the cartoon itself is less then mediocre. And it blows my mind how people discovered my little pony after 20 years. What will be next fad, Peanuts ? Captain Planet ?
... You realise it's only the new show people like... right? The bronies you see around here are not usually fans of the old series, though some certainly could be. I myself tried the older ones and hated them all apart from the new one (some more than others... some much more...).

OT: We're not hated, in fact I'm amazed by how little hate we actually receive. I honestly would have expected a much worse reaction by most people, but liking the show has become so pervasive that it's pretty much just accepted, apart from by a few trollish idiots. I'm amazed people can admit they watch a show aimed at young girls on the internet of all places, and not be immediately laughed at and their opinions dismissed.

(Just in case anyone was going to, please don't give me that quote by Faust, I know she intended it to be watched by parents too, but that's not the point of this argument)

It's hard to hate bronies since I am one but I don't agree with a lot of them. If they want to watch the show, they can, if not, don't start trying to shove it down there throat. For a show about friendship, it isn't very friendly.

What don't you like about it? not much to go off of when you just say it's "mediocre", if you don't like it, it's fine, just curious.

Is it odd that this is the first I've heared of Bronies? From what I gather they are people the are fans of "My Little Pony". Is that right? If so, then I don't hate you guys, it don't appeal to me, but it doesn't bother me.
PS: I misread the title as "Why do you hate brownies?"

oh how sweet, you make the "community" sound like a cosy little village. seriously though anyone to embroiled in a TV show of any kind has a problem, and that's what worries me about the 'bronies' is that they're obsessed over a cartoon. and i fear you might be as well.

Because bronies are particularly prevalent in the same kind of community the Escapist put itself, there's a congregation here because people already in the Escapist community became bronies, and spread it to their likeminded friends of the Escapist.

Not a brony, but I watched a few episodes, seemed like good harmless fun. Don't see what all the hate is about really.
