Ha, I just posted at the same time asking the same thing. I found it odd that there was 2 whole pages before someone came along that didn't know what the hell they were talking about.

Normally, people being bronies doesn't bother me all that much, it's not something that should crop up on my radar, but when I see them posting ponies, pony anecdotes and other such things where it is absolutely irrelevant, off topic and uncalled for, then get all defensive when you call them out on it? That's when I get pissed off.

Yes, I fucking get it, you like the show, now would you kindly stop posting about it in every single god damn thread? (Not you specifically, more generally towards bronies who do this.)
Also, I god damn wish people would stop trying to get me to watch it. No, I have no interest in it, the premise does not appeal to me in any way whatsoever.

A brony is a male(not always) that out of some reason, became a fan to the show "My Little pony: Friendship Is Magic". We weren't the target demographic for this show yet there is a lot of us. Enough that Hasbro has accepted it and is laughing with us, making their ads almost directly to us.

Were not a bad group, just some of us are loud dicks, you can ignore them.

Usually yes. Hating someone because they like a TV show is something I consider trollish behaviour, either that or they're just extremely ignorant and actually believe that judging people based on their choice in entertainment is entirely reasonable.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against people who hate specific bronies, but hating anyone who watches a certain TV show is ridiculous.

Like I said in the malformatted quote, it's not the show I'm embroiled in, it's the loving community I'm embroiled in.

Is it odd that this is the first I've heared of Bronies? From what I gather they are people the are fans of "My Little Pony". Is that right? If so, then I don't hate you guys, it don't appeal to me, but it doesn't bother me.

Not particularly odd. It's just that you've been in the sections of the internet that the evangelistic ones of us haven't overrun in a torrent of pony-memes and references.

I just don't like how "Bronies" have decided to make their own little sub-culture from one simple cartoon. Any obsessive fanbase is annoying, it has nothing to do with the show itself. All the avatars, the fanart, the captioned pics and most of all, people inserting MLP into conversations. Seeing them constantly around the internet gets tiresome as the quantity of it is just staggering.

This is my problem with brony haters- there really isn't a good reason for them to hate, except that they chose to dislike the show. Usually for the "men shouldn't watch little girl shows" or "Its too mainstream" reasons.

Wrong. I really enjoy the show, I've seen every episode. It's just not worth talking about and referencing every damn day at every given opportunity. -_-

I don't understand the obsession, nor has any fan adequately explained it to me.

I'll give it a go then.

Out of a lot of TV shows and music I listen to, MLP:FiM is one of the few that actually seems to give a shit. I see shows like Family Guy which has a massive following, but with the laziest, most boring animation, no effort in voice acting, and countless phone-ins when they run out of ideas or jokes, that I appreciate when something is actively trying to better itself. Lauren Faust (the exec producer) said she despised previous generations of the show and wanted to redo it and strive for something great. I see that enthusiasm in every episode and I appreciate the show for what it's trying to do. They could have created another mindless turd and siphoned toy money through it, but they didn't.

That's my reason for liking it mind you, not a reason why you should enjoy the show.

Bland characters I cant relate to, with cliche/stereotypical personalities. Uninteresting storylines, weak jokes. Target audience are girls age 16 and below.

But i don't like to go on about it, i don't like to do the fan art and some of it is creepy.
I'm more in it for the community.

What's boring? I still enjoy things. I just keep my fantacism to my self and don't go into motherfucking denial when ever something is done in my beloved series/franchise that I don't like.

I don't know what you're talking about with the denial thing ... I don't think I've ever seen that in the Brony fandom. Are you talking about something specific?

But yes, I understand keeping it to yourself, and we would do that, but the thing is that the whole Brony fandom is a lot less about the show itself and a lot more about the community, the fan OC and reactions and discussions and so forth, which makes it ... somewhat difficult for us to keep it to ourselves.

No I've not seen the denial thing among the Brony fandom either, but it won't surprise me in the slightest if and when it does. And don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm referring to the fuckwad Star Wars fans that insist that the prequel trilogy never happened, or the fuckwad Indiana Jones fans that insist that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull never happened.
Besides, if you recall my original post I said don't hate Bronies, at least not anymore than I hate the fans of anything else. In other words I don't care that you're into My Little Pony. What ever it is that you happened to be into is irrelevant, it's fandom in general that irritates me.
