There are a few games I didn't complete which I'm working on now. One of the reasons is because I enjoy playing online more than single playing. Another is because I bought games in a short period of time. (GameStop had a sale...) And the last reason is because Final Fantasy makes me want to ragequit every time I play it.
I have twelve games that I have to pass right now and I'll have more once Dragon Age and Assassin's Creed come out.

Mainly it's because it isn't any fun.
Or if I have to repeat long quests several times, because of some tiny mistake that ruined it everytime.

I like to get it right the first time, or not run very far if I don't.
I'm looking at you GTA IV.
You think that's bad, try the one before it... flying across the entire map in a boring ass plane journey only to miss the stupid hoop and have to start the entire mission again.

And goddamn those cross country races...

Only games I can think of that I didn't bother finishing were Far Cry 2 and Psychonauts.
I played that one too, but at least the game was fun, unlike IV...

Because the ending finishes the game.

fallout 3,that ending is the worst ending I have ever seen for a game.

depends on the game really.

i never completed Doom3 due to the crippling boredom of it. Repetitive and very predictable, "when i walk along this corridor i can guarantee something will spawn behind me and infront of me" *walks forwards* *enemies spawn infront and behind me*

i even tried comedy godmode + chainsaw silliness to try to burn through the game to get to the ending, but even that got boring... :/

RPG: usually only due to massive difficulty jumps at the end bosses.
eg. after playing through enchanted arms, it was fairly challenging up until the very last boss which had an immense difficulty spike compared to the rest of the game. Realising i'd have to grind my characters for several hours to level them up, i moved to a different game :)

If a game sucks I just stop playing because I can't be bothered.

If a games alright I'll usually play through to the end then go back and try 100% it.

If a game is REALLY REALLY brilliant I find I usually dick about and put off completing it as long as possible. Quite sad really but sometimes you just don't want the game to end you know?

I'll quit a game if it becomes to boring and predictable, and if I have no personal connection with the character I am playing.

If I don't finish one of my games, it's because it's bad. I'll even slog my way through something mediocre to get to the end. For me not to finish a game is a mark of dishonor on it.

I used to barely ever finish games. I'd just drop what I was currently playing in favour of whatever else had happened to catch my eye, forget what was happening in the previous object of my attention and trade it in. I like to think I'm maturer now; I force myself to finish the game, then sell it on ebay if I don't think it will ever warrants a replay at some point in the future.

Because my friends list is filled with people that invite me to play Street Fighter or Gears of War. Whenever I start a new game I get people asking me to play something else, and I always do. I just finished a game I got back in 2006 and I had to appear offline to do it.

I don't really know. Sometimes I just don't feel like playing through a game and stop playing it.

Well I got sick of Twilight Princess after the first 4 temples because I found it too easy. I felt unchallenged and I know games usually get harder the further you get into them so I might get around to completing it one day.

I found Metroid Prime: Echoes a bit repetitive for me and decided to take a break, however I haven't played it for 2 years now.

Never reached the highest level in Lineage 2 because all the new updates took all the fun out of the game and too many players were cheating by using bots to do all the work for them and I got sick of that.

Thats it except for Battle Toads on SNES, that was just too frikkin hard for me.

Difficulty. More so than 10 years ago I play games to get away from work-related stress. An impossible challenge you cannot think your way through is just the opposite. All the same there aren't that many that create such impenetrable walls that I can't even figure where to start. Most recent example is Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings. Besides having many of the same problems as the original (game plays itself, lack of character), there is a boss a fair ways in who possesses a wide instant-kill Area-of-Effect attack. They spam it. Not even ranged units can get around it.

If they enrage me too much, I don't see any point in playing. It is meant as entertainment, so I'm not going to keep it up if I'm not entertained.

I chose 'took too long'. I can usually tell when a game should've ended but the creators have deliberately padded the game out.

Game: LOST PLANET

Why: The game's story was all over the place and I lost track of the plot. Also, some of the Akrid became god awful annoying what with their cheap attacks and ridiculous amount of health...and the fact that so many of the god damn bugs appeared on screen at once that you'd be better off with a giant bug bomb than bullets or plasma bolts.

Either the game is so rubbish I can't be bothered (Half Life 2, Halo 3), or it's too hard (Black and White).

Usually when it was only mildly amusing, then difficult. I give it a valiant attempt a few more times, but then suddenly it doesn't seem worth the effort. Examples being Ninja Gaiden 2. It wasn't really that fun for more, so when I got stuck I just put it down and switched to someone that was more fun, even if I can't complete it straight away.
