Poll: Why I don't like Elves

Am I the only one, who thinks Elfs are kinda like gays and Dwarfs are kinda like Jews?
It would make sense because Tolkien admitted that Nazis were a big inspiration for orcs, who wanted to exterminate them.

You just made that up. You had to of. First of all, the books were written before World War 2. Tolkein was in WW1. He also stated very clearly that LOTR is not a parallel to WW1. Why you just grabbed at thin air and made that shit up, I'll never know.

Elves are gays and Dwarves are jews? There's not even a tiny piece of that theory that makes any sense.

I agree with the OP, I basically dislike everything about them.

I have a very funny memory from another thread like this in another forum where a poster explained how he likes Elves because he looks like them, and it made me laugh for a long time. See, I would joke with my other Elf-hating friend about this but never thought it would actually be true (in some cases).

As I said, I always had a certain dislike of Elves. Though I could never really put my finger on why.
This explanation just makes the most sense to me.

The reason sometimes Tolkien's Dwarves are compared to jews is that they had their own language and they were kicked out of their home and were always talking about going back (Moria). This is something I read somewhere on the web and not a personal opinion.

And thank you for that inspiring insight, Kukul. Though I must ask, what makes Dwarves remind you of Jews? If your only logic is that the Orcs, who are equivalent to Nazis, are trying to kill them, then that would mean that Humans, Elves, and Gnomes (if we're still talking about WoW) are also like Jews. So what makes the Dwarves seem more like Jews than anyone else?

The fact that they are an older race (Jewish tradition is much older than European) that they've taught people many things about craftsmanship, they have logical minds and are keen at math and they wear beards.
There's no stereotype about Jews being short or living undergroud, so I didn't even have room for an offensive comment here. Chill out.

Well I guess that's true. Explains why I like Dwarves so much. And I was wondering what Jewish stereotypes related to Dwarves, offensive or not.

Though Asians are better at math than Jews.

OH MY GOD I wanted to shoot myself after the first tenth of that book. I dont care if you think i'm some sort of cultural deliquant, but I swear there was no literary stucture to it. It felt like reading the bible but without a purpose.

I see your point. I'm not very much a fan of Tolkien's elves. However, I do like Elder Scrolls elves (except for the Wood Elves, who are remarkably boring), and I hear Drizzt of Forgotten Realms is rather awesome.

Well, to be honest, I have met neither in person.
But I'm assuming "Dwarf-Douches" would spend their time brawling, drinking beer, digging for treasure and growing beards.

traditionally, if there was any question over it, a newborn child inherited the mother's religion because there was never ambiguity over who the mother was. my mother converted, but it wasn't a formal one that adhered to all the laws, so some would say i'm not really jewish. no one i know has ever cared.

um, you don't. that's why you save it. that's a lot different from "not using it for anything" or "hoarding it just because you can".

Well, this isn't really meant to be a serious thing, because hey, it's fantasy. Don't look at it too hard, it's just meant to use the common stereotypes, not be an exact cultural match up.
