My spidey sense says The Last Guardian probably won't come out this year. I mean 2011 is TOO packed for PS3, almost every other title has a confirmed release date but not TLG. What's likely is E3 2011 they'll demo gameplay and announce to release in Q1 2012 (same slot as Killzone 2 + 3 also God of War 3) with the Team Ico collection out for Christmas to whip up interest.
NOOOOOOOO!!! Well, hopefully they'll aim for Januari/Febuari 2012 release. *prays to God*

But I heard that the Team Ico collection would be out in like April or something, unless that turns out to be bogus too : >(

Alright, so we know to raise up the flame shields, but i'm pro ps3 on this point. Not that i hate the 360, but ps3 just has more going for it. I know Home was pretty dire, but that didn't really matter because of the quality of the recent and upcoming games for the ps3. Plus, im actually writing this with my ps3 web browser, so i'm a little bit bias.

Trust me. Steam has been VERY GOOD for me on PC, wow, I can't wait to link up my PS3 and PC (though I still think I'll get all my games on PC if I can)
I don't see any reason not to buy it for PS3 if you have it, seeing as that puts it on your steam account anyway, meaning you'll get the pc version for free essentially.

Good times indeed.

OT: For me, the major reason I got a ps3 over the 360 was MGS4, and the fact that Halo didn't do anything for me. So far the Ps3 exclusives also seem to outweigh the xbox ones, if only for uncharted.

I fucking hate Killzone 2.

Seems like one of those dev teams that takes their time, but I think it will pay off in the long run.

Welllll... one reason I'd much rather get it just on PS3 is Valve games sell for about £27-30 on Steam, but PS3 games sell for £40-45 so I'd be paying 50% more for a version I'd likely never play. Pre-owned isn't an option as the steam code would be a one-time deal.

I'm happy enough with games from Sony studios. I used to hate on Killzone 2, till I tried it just with a kind of "Huh, lets see how bad this shit really is" but you know it got under by skin and I have to admit I did enjoy it though I did only play £10 for my copy (battered pre-owned copy).

Pro-tip: don't play Killzone 2 on a HDTV. The problem is Killzone 2 has one of the highest CONTROL LATENCY, that is the graphics are so complicated that everything is on a 1/6th of a second delay. So if you press the trigger, there is a 150millisecond delay before the game responds, and that is for all controls, aim adjustment, everything. This isn't in itself a problem but get this: many HDTV's ALSO have an input latency, as they "process" the signal that adds 50-80milliseconds to the actions delays, not a problem in itself but it all adds up to almost a Quarter of a Second input delay!

Scientific experiments have been done, when input latency is over 200milliseconds for anything (a remote control car, a flight simulator or whatever) it just crosses some limit of the human mind and it becomes impossible to do anything fluidly. But it's the last 50ms added on to by your HDTV that does it.

I played Killzone 2 on a PC monitor (zero input lag) and it was MUCH more enjoyable, I actually felt in control and was killing fools all over.

Digital Foundry did some test with Killzone 3 beta and found the input lag has been hugely reduced to just over 100ms, that's just about the same as every other console shooter now.

Also, the game doesn't seem quite so grey n' brown. Which is nice.

Well, I wasn't against Killzone before I played it. I mean sure, it was brown as hell, but damn it looked pretty. But like you said, it felt sluggish as hell. That and I hated every single word that came from all the character's mouths, except Visari ironically enough. Very early on, I was hoping the helghan would win.

Also, the lack of customisability in controls was annoying, and I could never find a decent sensitivity between being too jittery in iron sights, or way too slow whilst turning.

I might play it again at some stage, just because it's pretty, but I don't really see anything standing out here.

I will admit that snowy levels + jetpacks make me a little more intrigued for the next one, as I love both those things. I'm not holding out for a masterpiece, but I'll at least give it a shot.

What I benefited from was one of these:

That extension over the right thumbstick (ignore the gel shell) is FPS Control Freek (or something that sounds like that), it basically just makes the thumbstick longer and with a concave head. This subtle difference completely changes the angular precision so you basically have a broader RANGE of precision, so with max sensitivity, you can still make the small angular adjustments for fine aiming (as with a longer lever, a larger movement is for the same angle) yet you can still turn around quick with pushing full deflection.

But the stick extensions sold in pairs which is annoying as I only ever needed one over the right sick leaving the left vanilla, but they're cheap enough overall. I use my spare one on my wired 360 controller for PC.
