Poll: Why is it only on 4chan that I ever see anyone call Skyrim outright shit.

Okay, I loved skyrim. Honestly would have considered it my game of the year but Dark Souls exists.
But I find some rather strange trend on the internet, everywhere people praise it but on 4Chan, and other related chans, its considered casual shit.
Does anyone have a theory on why? Also what did you think of the game.

If you're talking about /v/, then its because they are the biggest bunch of hipsters. Ever.

At first, they loved Minecraft to bits, but IMMEDIATELY it became successful they started to hate it. Same goes with pretty much everything else they liked.

Also, they suffer from a MASSIVE superiority complex, whether its to make up for any lack of accomplishment, I don't know.

And I'll try to stay off my soapbox, but about calling Skyrim shit- I hate fighting games. I've never played one I didn't want to run through a meat grinder after ten minutes. Nearly every single thing about them is polarized in the exact opposite direction as my brain. But that doesn't meant the new MK or SFIV are bad games. In fact, I'd say they're pretty damn good.

Me personally? I have Skyrim myself, but in all honesty, it just felt like Oblivion with more mountains and added fog, with dragons here and there. Oh, and replace majority the of Imperial NPC's with Nord NPC's. I just didn't feel immersed in any of the story arcs of Skyrim, it felt more like "sightseeing and youtube video material" with scattered side missions and two main story arcs that would play like Bioware games had it not had an open world map.

I'm sorry, but when did we care what 4chan has to say? They're not praising it because they're assholes, and that's me putting it kindly. How can their opinion matter when pressed up against that of my girlfriend? I bought her Skyrim, and she cried...

Skyrim lacks punishingly difficulty and isnt overly complicated. So naturally, /v/ hates it. Hardly surprising.

This sounds about right. If you want a game that /v/ likes, try Dwarf Fortress.
