I didn't like how Last Stand portrayed death. I was playing Minecraft when I first saw it, and I kept on looking up to find that a bunch of people had just died and I'd missed it. It was almost like they were trying to tell me that those people didn't matter, that they were just 'pawns', and their deaths were meaningless. Maybe now I should go out and dematerialize some people, if no one's going to care about it.

It was a turgid, badly scripted, badly acted monstrosity.
Not too mention as per usual Wolverine was given far too much attention, despite being one of the most boring characters in Marvel.

I don't know, I thought it was pretty good. I also kinda expected it to be pretty well received too since they threw in the Fastball Special at the beginning too.
Then again I question the hate for a lot of movies/things inc. The Last Airbender, Transformers, and X-Men: Orgins. I just don't bother making threads about 'em.

I personally enjoyed X3, though I'm no hardcore (or even semi-committed) X-Men fan so I wasn't particularly bothered if anything nerd enraging happened or if a particular character got underused.

The death of Professor X though, didn't like that at all. Granted, we were then meant to think he had managed to transfer his consciousness into that other mans body. but what would they then do had a follow up been made? Leave Charles out of it, bring him back only with a different actor (but hey, look! It's still Professor X) or come up with some convoluted concept for how Man in Coma now looks just like Patrick Stewart.

The second one was still the best of the 3, in my opinion. Origins: Wolverine doesn't count. That was just a mess.
Huh? I watched 3 2 nights ago. What other man's body? What coma? We don't see or hear so much as a reference to Chuck still being around after Jean "kills" him (though Marvel's Lauren Schuler Donner did hint a few years later that Jean, Scott and Charles hadn't actually died).

It is probably an okay film(Dragged down by the pacing) but it pissed me off so much that everyone died outside of 1 or 2 people i can't stand the film. It wasn't a spiderman 3 good sequal but it wasn't nearly batman and robin bad. (In case you are wondering, I liked spiderman 3 because to me atleast it felt like the same silver age goodness as the first and second film. It was cheesy but so were the first 2 films AND the comics so I am not really sure where the complaints are coming from.)

I didn't like it because Cyclops died.
Professor X 'died'.
Jean died.
Wolverine KILLED jean.
Nightcrawler was suddenly M.I.A.
Magneto betrayed Mystque--completely out of character for him.
None of the evil mutants at the end had any actual powers. They were simply a mob.
The movie was about Wolverine, with everyone else pretty much making cameo appearances it felt like.

I DID like that we got to see more of Kitty (I've always liked her) and Ice man. Seeing some of the sub characters take lead roles was nice. But still, it centered too much on Wolverine for my liking, and too many character changes.

Well, it's been a lot longer than 2 nights ago that I last watched Last Stand but as far I remember, there's a scene where someone (might be Xavier) is showing some footage of a man in a hospital bed, maybe in a coma but nonetheless completely unresponsive to the outside world. Xavier (let's say it's him giving the talk anyway) is talking about the possibility of transferring ones consciousness into another body. Later on in the film, as we know, Charles gets taken down. I don't know if it's a post credit scene, but we get a short clip of a nurse coming in to visit the man in the hospital bed. The man then addresses her by name and she replies by calling him Charles. Coinkydink, or something more sinister?

Search youtube for "X men 3 post credits" and if you can find a decent quality clip, you're doing better than me.

Wait. People actually consider the first two movies to the superior of the trilogy? Wasn't the third what a Superhero movies is meant to be: Packed with characters which are to be seen fighting outside the screen, because it's a movie based off of a franchise, and by automatic movie creed, is meant to just be a fight-a-thon?

People complain about continuity when the original movies were way off base anyhow?

I swear, you can't please comic book fans.

Two words: Emo Spidey.

That, and Topher Grace would have made a much better Peter Parker than Venom (And the writing was terrible).

I didn't hate Spider-Man 3, but it was a very poor quality movie meant to cash in on the success of the previous two.

As for OT: The only thing I really didn't like about X3 was what they did to the Juggernaut, ESPECIALLY with the actor they got to play him. Vinnie Jones isn't exactly the largest guy they could have cast, but he is an excellent action actor and (seeing that Juggernaut is my favorite X-Men enemy) it pained me to see that they removed all of his backstory and gave him terrible lines. (Plus, mutant ability to be unstoppable after beginning to run? WHAT?)

Because it was bad. Also... does anybody else sorta hate people who throw around watching the FOX cartoon like they know what x-men is about? I know pretentious that must sound, but seriously, the fox show was 22 minutes of Wolverine being awesome while Cyclops did his best Urkle impression. It was a fun cartoon when I was 9, but it's not x-men.

They took away Mystique's powers. At about that time, I said to myself, "Fuck this movie. Fuck the man who made it. Fuck the people in this room. Fuck my popcorn. Fuck everything."

Honestly, it was really forgettable. I can remember the plot of 1 and 2, but I forget the third was even called The Last Stand. I wasn't as involved in it for some reason. Also, mentioning memes in the real world is just weird. Seriously, "I'm the Juggernaut, *****!"? Did I mention them taking away some of my favorite mutant's powers? House of M did that, and I hate House of M.

I watch it mainly for Ian McKellen as Magneto. Especially the scene where
Xavier dies
just because of how he reacts. Its emotional in a cool way. Also Gene having ripping the prison apart is pretty cool. Still nowhere near my favorite film.

Because Phoenix is the most ridiculous character in the entire X-Men universe and in my opinion the whole drama around her was the reason the movie was so horrible.

I really really likes the last stand, and I don't really know why, sure it had its cheesy moments, and there may have been too many characters, but I thought every character was really well acted and believeable. I loved Vinny Jones as the Juggernaut, the angel character, ok, it had nothing really to do with pushing the main plot forward, but he provided a solid, believable motivation for the main scientist who was in charge of the mutant research, and having beast in it was great, just for the nostagia purposes. I thought the whole Dark Phoenix plot was adequately fleshed out as well, sure cyclops got a raw deal, but that kinda led into the whole Jean might be a little bit mental feeling you got at the start, before she flipped.

I thought killing Prof X, while a serious plot point, really showed just how amoral Jean had become, and anyway, if you stayed beyond the credits, you got to see a little extra on that particular plot point...

And finally, I love the idea behind the plothole that they could have just thrown the cure kid at Jean at the end when she went loco. Had that happened it would have been Hollywood gold.

First rule of comic book movies: always watch to the end of the credits until they are absolutely finished. X-Men 3 actually has 2 after credit sequences.
