Poll: Will you buy HATRED?

Ok, let me put it like this... when I enjoy videogame gunfights, the emphasis for me is FIGHTS. Battles. If I'm pointing guns at people, I want them pointing guns back, trying to kill me. (or at least shambling/zerging towards me with the intent to give my internal organs a quick airing).

Shooting civilians is not what I'm after. Yes, I played through no Russian. I didn't shoot anyone till I had people trying to kill me. Any game that features unarmed, defenseless people running around has me bring very careful where I fire to make sure I don't kill anyone who isn't an enemy.

This game is offering me nothing I want, and honestly making me feel a tad queasy.

I think it's a pretty clear case of a developer thinking "lets make a really controversial game that will get a lot of attention and probably sell pretty well too because all the 15 year olds want to prove how badass they are." It's a fucking joke and I don't understand the appeal of something like this.

I've already played an isometric shooter. And tell me this. Does this game have Space Marines, Orks and Tyranids? No? Sounds like an inferior experience. And the original experience was already pretty bad.

When I first saw the trailer, I honestly thought it was a joke. It comes off like something you'd see playing in the background of a movie or on the television in GTA. It's like Postal if postal started listening to Cradle of Filth and taking itself seriously.

I am probably not going to get it not an isometric shooter guy unless it has space marines.

I am torn thought my first impression was trying to hard to be edgy with it just looking in bad taste and now its like well at least they are going full on a killer mode and seeing something this bluntly try hard is refreshing is a weird way.

But it doesn't sound nearly as evil as misogynist.

While misogynist does roll of the tongue like the word communist in a fun way.

But misanthrope is technically worst as one is a profound hatred for one sex while the other is just fuck off everybody.

Oh, and it would seem the developer has been creating threads on sites like 4chan and 8chan(the latter of which I browse regularly) in a move of viral marketing. Ultimately stupid.

What kind of threads?
The kind of "Censor this filth!!!" ones meant to drum up controversy, or "lol look at this i wanna shoot bitches lol" which I guess would drum up controversy as well while assuming the people hanging out on the site would be on board with that.

Considering some of their comments about being against "trend of political correctness in video games," and that they "sought to make a game that eschewed politeness, colorfulness, and games as art." which would make it seem like they have a certain idea about their target audience.

(Apart from the comment about colour, is that a recurring complaint anywhere? Or in general that you have to be polite in games? I sure hated it when I had to tip my hat to every prostitute I murdered in GTAV)

It also doesn't really make it sound like it's actually fun.

I;'m glad my mom never saw it because she'd hate it and then I'd have to buy it because lol gamers are all 12 and have a contrarian mentality!

I honestly can't believe there is so much of a stink about this game yet when the original Postal released in 1997 with pretty much an identical premise no one gave a shit. This game is obviously aping it in a sense. Even down to the camera angle.

And I mean Postal not postal 2. The original Postal did not blanket things in humor. It was a pretty serious game about killing innocent civilians because you were crazy.

I thought the same thing. But in general, Naughty Bear is more creative and complex than what Hatred seems to be in the trailer. Excecuting inocent people with guns: simple concept. Harrasing inocent people until they commit suicide: not so simple.

Comes across to me like a whiny wanna-be emo kid that wants attention really badly and figures that drinking his own blood on camera is a great way to get it. Frankly, boring. If you want to legitimately shock me, you first have to make me care about something in the game and what happens to it, else it's just a bunch of pixels colored red.

This is the only correct answer. We don't know shit yet about the game, let's wait and see. It's interesting though, I'll give it that.

Nah, it doesn't look challenging enough. Maybe if they threw in some mech-suit enemies, and a couple of snipers, and the game was $5, I'd buy it.

Oh c'mon it's hard to make that kinda call from a short trailer.

No plans of it either way honestly, with such a short trailer really not showing enough about how the actual game plays; it's just way too soon to tell. Murdering tons of dudes is always amusing and all that but I got a backlog and not looking to further it ....except for Alien Isolation, but that's a bias.

Nah, it's not for me; lacks GTA2's campy appeal and self-awareness. Nice for the top-down/isometric shooter crowd though, that niche has been rather dry recently.
