No.
Not only does it not seem well-written and like it can handle the theme by being either over-the -top enough or I guess artistic enough to look interesting, I don't like the whole ARE YOU OFFENDED YET!? as a marketing gimmick.

All themes aside, it just doesn't look very interesting to me. If I wanted to kill a bunch of innocents I could just play like a billion sandbox games, most of which look better and have other engaging things to do.
Also in them if you decide to become a mass-murderer, it's because you chose to, not because the game tells you to, which I think is a lot of the appeal for many people.

Urgh, I can just see the SJWs swarming all over this like flies on a dead dog, its manhunt 2 all over again and at the worst possible time.

And, in case anyone thinks about comparing this to things like GTA or borderlands, I'd like to point out that those are much less realistic and cartoonish in nature, weather intentionally or not. Even 'gritty realistic' modern shooters rarely put you in this sort of situation yes I am looking at you call of duty.

While I'm open to the idea that this could be a very clever satire in some way, perhaps reminicent of spec ops the line, I have my doubts, while I never played spec ops I understand it played its hand a lot more subtly and didn't rely on apparent shock value imediately or all the time.

I'm not usually one to question peoples rights to free speech and free expression but I can't help but wonder if it would be better for this thing to die in development.

Nope. It looks stupid, boring and cheesy as fuck.

"PEOPLE ARE THE WORMS FEEDING ON THE EARTH'S CORPSE."

I am sensing absolutely zero self-awareness on the developers part here...

Also, as per usual, the youtube comments are utterly cringeworthy...

Nah, it doesn't look challenging enough. Maybe if they threw in some mech-suit enemies, and a couple of snipers, and the game was $5, I'd buy it.

Hell no. the intro made me laugh it was so stupidly overdramatic and dumb and it looks like the game is using it's DARK, EDGY AND CONTROVERSIAL tone to mask the fact that it's gameplay looks boring and repetitive. Anyone who buys this game is a sucker.

They should make a a game about a guy who dresses in clothes all purchased by his mom from Hot Topic at the local strip mall, and the entire game is him writing angsty renditions of Edgar Allen Poe stories while talking about how conformist all the football players are. The primary antagonist will be his mom and her primary attack would be telling him dinner is ready.

No because it just looks kind of really really bad...

I'm not one to say that this subject matter shouldn't be allowed. Even the most tasteless and vile filth people can create (see Rapelay or whatever that raping game was called) shouldn't be shut down just because I find it tacky; I'm not sure why you would want to spend your money on garbage like that but it's not my money to spend.

I may find out later that this game is a stroke of genius and a masterpiece in gaming, in which case I would at least take a look but as of right now, it looks shitty and I have zero reason to believe that that is going to change.

Closer to Far Cry Blood Dragon or Starship Troopers? Could be, time will tell.
Yeah, Starship Troopers might be a good analogue.

It's the dialogue, and the style of narration employed. It doesn't sound accidentally bad. It sounds very carefully considered and deliberately bad.

I could be wrong, but this smacks of satire to me.

Fuck no. Looks boring.
Comparing it to Blood Dragon or Starship Troopers might be apt but those are at least fun. This just looks like the worst kind of dull.

If it's good, but from my personal experience <url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DmC:_Devil_May_Cry>games which try to pull the edgy card tend not to be very well put together.

Indeed. Even if the gameplay actually pushes you this way or rewards you for this - Civilization does this to an extent, after all, and pretty much every RTS -, I think that's far better than telling you upfront "You're a mass murdered by default, now do it and play your part".

Because it's not like the media didn't hate games enough as it is, a developer actually made a game that's almost a point-by-point checklist of everything they claimed games to be.

Looks like its just mindless killing with zero point or story. Its a game that will sell based on media going "OMG" at it. Some have judged it by Manhunt, but atleast in that game you have a reason and a story and it really you surviving against nutcases. Hatreds story seems to be, im pissed with the world so im going to kill everything. Thats just boring.

I can see some 14 year old wannabe goth playing this. lol. Personally i would be surprised if this gets released in america being that they have spree killers. Wouldnt be surprised if this game is linked to a mass shooting in the near future.

I've heard rumors that its possible to beat the whole game without killing anyone, and if its true I will hail it as one of the greatest achievements in interactive story telling of our age.

...admittedly this was heard on /pol/, so, maybe take with massive piles of salt.
