Heh, why the hell would I "outgrow" my hobby? It's not like I spend 12 hours daily playing games, I use them to relax and learn (hey, I got half my vocabulary from games, you don't know how much knowing 24 different melee weapons rocks when you're in your first year at language school and your peers still stagger in awe before the word "daughter").

And besides, if I outgrew games, where'd I get my inspiration for short stories? As much as I like to think of myself as a "lolseriouswriter", it's the most fun I've had for ages.

Oh, and I'm 20 years old, second year studying economics in uni. Just for comparison purposes :)

I figure if my interest in gaming hasn't lapsed by the age of 23 but rather intensified it's not going any where ever. And I like it that way. I've outgrown or at least lost interest in many of the genres I used to love though. JRPG's for example. They used to make my heart beat and my lungs draw breath; now they bore me to death. Action and Adventure games as well as FPS have come up to take their places though. I think gaming is a life long thing for me.
Yeah - I used to spend all summer playing a final fantasy - but now I struggle to get past disc1 of star ocean. Lost oddysey is one game I want to complete even though it is short in the eyes of most modern JRPG's. I like games with fast intense drop you in it action, because I dont have the time anymore.

I doubt I'll outgrow them, I'm just waiting for something to come along that actually grabs my interest (which is scheduled to be released next year).
A lot of the games that have been released for this generation I have little to no interest in.

No I don't think so, I'll always appreciate games like I appreciate movies and books. Sure I won't actively play craploads like I do today, but maybe I'll catch one every now and then. And if I get a family, I'll just play games with my kids. Sometimes of course, don't want them to turn into couch potatoes.

Just by thinking of the future, and the chances it holds - no. I mean, this train ride is only going to get better.
