I never cared much for Star Wars anyways so if it could make people stop yammering about how they hate the prequels then by all means go on.

Plus Star Wars probably wouldn't have had the wide recognition it does today, it'd be more remembered as a, still popular, relic of years gone by.
And a lot of the good Star Wars things (The above mentioned KotOR) might not exist.
And if you mess with KotOR... legions of fans will descend on you with a hungry vengeance.

Plus plus, if you mess with KotOR, then Bioware wouldn't have become as recognized as they have. And that means Mass Effect might not exist.

And if you mess with Mass Effect, I WILL DESCEND ON YOU WITH A HUNGRY VENGEANCE!

Yes! Why? Because we need Star Wars movies that actually look good on the Blu-Rays, not just old. As average as the prequel movies were, they are damn shiny, and that is more or less what Blu-Ray is for.

Hmm. Let's see. You could go back in time and kill Hitler. Or warn a city of a hurricane. Or advise a government. Or advance medical research. Or otherwise do a meaningful and helpful thing.

Or you could try to prevent 3 harmless movies from existing (all of which you could just ignore), simply on the grounds that you didn't like them.

People, let's get f**king real here. Sure, the prequels did not sit well with many, understandable. But insisting that it ruined your lives and that they are worse than the devil is absolute bulls**t and chips. Grow up and just ignore them. You do know you're just promoting attention towards the movies when they should just be forgotten?

Since I subscribe to the idea that in the event of a grandfather paradox (as your trip would cause) that instead of there being a paradox you instead find yourself in an alternate timeline that will play out without your grandfather. You, however, will remain unaffected because it's impossible to change your timeline in a paradoxical way. The ones you leave behind in your original timeline will not experience the changes you cause.

Therefore!, go ahead. I won't stop you because it won't effect me at all. Go and live your life in a world where the star wars prequels do not exist.

I have recently created a one-way time machine, allowing me to travel to a particular time in the past, but lacking the ability return me to my own time period.

I intend to use this time machine so that I may travel back in time and stop George Lucas from creating the Star Wars prequels (personally, my most hated movie trilogy).

My question to you, the Escapist Community. Which among you will also take a one-way trip in time in an attempt to stop me from erasing these films from the time line forever?

Give me a good reason why too. Not just a "Because I like those movies!" Or a "Oh c'mon! The movies aren't that bad!" I want legitimate, detailed reasons for you wanting to stop me at the risk of being stuck in the early 90's.

Hmm, I'd probably stop you, but only for the reason that the only way to truly stop the prequels would be to kill Lucas, which isn't really fair. What I would do is take the prequels, recorded onto VHS (or maybe just take a laptop with me) and ALSO take the RedLetter Media reviews. I'd find Lucas, get him to watch the whole Trilogy, then watch the RedLetterMedia reviews, with further explanation where necessary. That way hopefully he will have seen where they went wrong, and the prequels will end up being better products. Also, I'd try to convince him to release the original movies, too.

I think that's what I'd do, but I'd go back earlier, to the late 80's, so that I could record all those kid's shows I used to love but now can't remember. Then when the time came I'd start my quest to set everything right.
