These movies provide a background and depth further into the star wars universe which without, would not be the most awesome sci-fi series out there today.

The prequels deserve as much right to exist as the originals, and I'll fight you alongside with the Doctor to stop your evil plans.

Hell no!

If those festering piles of shit were never made then Plinkett wouldn't have been able to review them.

i say u cant because of time paradoxes, if u head back in time to destroy the trilogy, then your future self wont head back in time to destroy the trilogy, cause he wouldnt know that they existed, thus the trilogy wont b destroyed, creating a time paradox

Do it. Please. Or at least edit out Jar Jar, and have Anakin show some genuine romantic feelings other than his monotone ones for Padme

There is the slight logic fail that you will have just as much access to Lucas 12 years ago as you do now. Now you are stranded in the early 90s with a failed goal and forced to relive some terrible moments in history, including watching people get hyped for 3 movies you won't like. Have fun.
And if the time machine gives you access to the people you need to change the moment in history in question, you are really going to go with stopping 3 movies from being made? You could stop a recession, save thousands of people from a number of natural disasters, prevent 2 wars, prevent a major terrorist attack on the United States and these are just the non-political changes I can think of.

I have recently created a one-way time machine, allowing me to travel to a particular time in the past, but lacking the ability return me to my own time period.

I intend to use this time machine so that I may travel back in time and stop George Lucas from creating the Star Wars prequels (personally, my most hated movie trilogy).

My question to you, the Escapist Community. Which among you will also take a one-way trip in time in an attempt to stop me from erasing these films from the time line forever?

Give me a good reason why too. Not just a "Because I like those movies!" Or a "Oh c'mon! The movies aren't that bad!" I want legitimate, detailed reasons for you wanting to stop me at the risk of being stuck in the early 90's.
1. The movies weren't that bad...quit bitching'
2. There is a good chance you could screw up the timeline. Maybe erasing the movies from history would have an unforseen negative consequence. Time Travel always causes problems....unless you're the Doctor, Jean Luc Picard, or Jack Harkness...and you are none of these.
3. Assuming you completely ignore #2, is this the only thing your narrow mind could think of to do with a time machine?! Really?! You could go back and make wise investments and make tons of money, give your younger self advice to make your life better. Use your knowledge of future technology and information to save thousands, maybe millions of people? But no, your narrow mind is ssoooooo overtaken by movies that came out YEARS ago that you can't even see straight.

I'm so SICK of Star Wars fans. Is George Lucus and idiot and kind of a douche bag now? Yes. Did Han shoot first? Yes. Could the Prequals have been better? Yes, but they aren't the worst things ever.... See any Transformers movie... any reality TV show, Green Lantern, and SOOO many more.

So, in conclusion, get over it.

Thanks!

Would you mind just shooting Lucas after Return of the Jedi? Just killing him dead? Because then we wouldn't have to deal with the remakes, OR the prequels. Think about it. No "Han Shot First", no "crappy CGI Jabba", no "little orphan Annie", no NOTHING.

Just the brilliant original movies... bliss...

I don't mind remastering, but actually CHANGING the films is a step too far. You're ruining perfectly good movies with your meddling!
Yes, because brutally murdering the man that brought you those wonderful films because he exercises his right to change HIS material.... That's really mature. Maybe you should shank JRR Tolkean w/ a shiv before he wrote The Similarian (spelling?)....

The only real mistakes from the remakes is the Han shot first and the NOO! Other then that, the enhance visuals looked better, and add things he couldn't do on a shoe sting budget in the 1970s.

Yes I would stop you, I have two reasons

first, There are several star wars books that I REALLY enjoyed that I suspect wouldn't have been written without the influence of the prequel trilogy. this stems from the concept that restrictions breed creativity and the prequels were nothing if not restricting.

Second, I could then put money into stocks of companies that I know will do well between then and now. maybe win a lottery or two.

Spoiler: We don't convince him, and he goes back. He fails to kill Lucas, and dies after non-fatally wounding him in the head. It is because of this head injury that Lucas ended up failing so badly in the prequels.

I don't get the bitching of most people. I loved the prequels. They were honestly pretty damn good. If you think they're horrible you can't really say the original 3 were any better. Destroyed the death star through a ventilation shaft? Ewoks? AT-AT's have to be the dumbest thing ever designed....and they were taken down by cables? Kissing his sister! Darth Vader had to pick up the Emperor and throw him down the hole...not force push him, not stab him...not even punch him with his big robotic fist?

The originals, great when they came out. Now, they really aren't. They were great because they were new and a huge step into a new world of sci-fi but now they are really basic.

Yes, not because I like the prequels, but because the various extensions to the lore both before and after the original movies point in time likely would not have happened, or would have been greatly diminished had they not happened.

I actually kinda liked the prequels as books... but not enough to bother stopping you. I need a more neutral poll answer, something along the lines of "nah, not really worth my time."

Star Wars hasn't been all that relevant in a bloody long time, so it surprises me you'd actually ask for permission.

How incredibly polite of you.

The first three were alright, but the prequels were almost too shit to describe.

No, because they were just as good as the originals. It's just the audience that has changed.
