Anything wireless but the Internet and the Xbox 360 controller have just been screwing me over when I've tried using them.

So, the wireless mouse can go where the sun doesn't shine on my part.

I'll summarize it like this: Got a laptop with plenty of USB/bluetooth ports? Use wireless mice and keyboard (or whatever have you).

Got a Desktop and a moderately sized desk? USE WIRED GEAR YOU FREAKING SQUIRREL! Sit down, and and instead of blowing money on wireless gear, spend it on a GOOD, COMFORTABLE CHAIR!

I think I've had the same pair of batteries in my wireless mouse since I bought it half a year ago. At least I haven't changed them more than once.

I don't see what you mean by "a pain to install"; I just put the antennae into the usb port, and I was pretty much ready to go. The only one of your problems I can relate to is that it goes glitchy sometimes, but I only use my laptop for browsing the internet or writing word-documents, so it is not really a huge problem.

If I were to start gaming on a pc though, I would definitely want a mouse with a wire.

Edit: From what I can see in this thread it would seem that people have very conflicting views regarding the objective, measurable, qualities of wireless mice. My guess is that the people who are complaining about wireless here have at one point bought a really crappy product, and those who praise wireless have been lucky and bought something good. To summarize, it would seem that the differences between products on the wireless market are so great that one product can turn anyone into a wireless-lover, and another can turn anyone into a hater.

my mouse is awesome. true, I don't use it for gaming, but then again, our computer is a pile of shit when it comes to gaming. But I never have problems with batteries, I can't even remember the last time I had to change them.

It's been a long time since I've really used a mouse, but my wireless one never gave me any troubles.

I've only ever used a wireless mouse when I lived back at home and actually owned one - I don't know if its because it was quite a while ago but it had *chronic* battery problems. Never really noticed much problem with it functionally though.

I do find wireless keyboards pretty sweet though.

I used to have a wireless keyboard / mouse set. The mouse had a chargeable battery which charged overnight on a special dock, so it never ran out of juice during one of my gaming sessions. Used the set for 5 years before it (sort of) died and now have a wired set. Anyway wired or wireless, there both fine with me.

Wired mice all the way. I've had my two Logitech G5's for a few years now, and they both still work great. The cable has never been a huge problem except when moving around the computer approximately every 6 months, even then it's just a matter of tugging the cable till I feed the line through to the USB connector.

A few months ago I traded in my G15 (2nd Gen) for a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard. I miss the screen, but I love the flatness of this keyboard. It's also wired, and I prefer the tactile response.

As much as I understand a requirement for wireless tech, a lot of people needlessly use wireless technology. It is a HUGE waste of batteries, which have a large environmental impact. I am quite happy knowing that I am saving power, the hassle of dealing with batteries, and also having to deal with batteries as waste.

The other alternative is proprietary batteries which require you to replace the whole unit if the battery fails since you can't replace it.

I know some people don't like cables, but seriously... Just how much of a hassle are they?

I love wireless, long go the days I would get entagled in wires, and was a pain to remove my PC from one place to another. As for batteries, rechargeable for the win!!!

hate.

why?
1. it chews through battereies
2. even though there are rechargeable ones, it'll knock out at the most worst of times, ie, in the middle of a game?
3. if these things dont happen to you, they bloody well happened to me...

well, i don't hate wireless, but i believe that wired is better for playing most games. especially wireless keyboards, seriously, try to press down more then 3 buttons, and they all freeze in place. i keep running around in fps, then the A or D key gets stuck and my guy just runs right past cover and into the line of fire.

I had a wireless mouse once but it worked perfect untill every time I played TF2 it stopped reacting and I told my dad what the problem was but he ignored the problem and said I was moving the mouse too fast mouses are suppose to work than you move em' fast or slow but it ended that my father got pissed on the complains and took the mouse and crushed it against the floor and after that it was my fault that the mouse broke so I was forced to buy a new so I did I bought a razer salmosa good mouse but than the internet was slow my father destroyed it too and said I bought a shity mouse and than I bougt a even better razer mouse and than he destroyed that one too cos' of the net and than I was forced to buy a new mouse again but this one he haven't destroyed yet but my point is all the mouses broke beacose a agressive dad do I think both wire and wireless are crap so I got my self a xbox 360 and don't need to get slaped in the face by all the damn mouses shityness

I hate because it always cut out at the worst time. Sadly I'm stuck with Woreless because I have big hands and the only mice I could find that were both big enough and with 5 buttons were wireless.

computers, i really do, ive had many different computers over the years from the box to my current flat screen.
Computers have made massive changes over the years for better.
But ive got to say "The wireless mouse is evil!!!".
First off it always wastes batteries, i go through at least 6 batteries per month and they cost me a fortune. second is they alway go glitchy when they run out of batteries and third there a pain to install.
honestly are they really worth it? whats your opinion?
totally see where you are coming from, i once used a kit of both mouse and keyboard wireless the keyboard lasts months andthe mouse days or less, it was horror, i still use the keyboard but now have a wired mouse and stuck to it forever, the newer generation of mice are better though, but wired is always better performance wise anyway

another thing i hated, atleast with the keyboard you see it coming, some keys get less responcive and you could do some weird SOS typing to people you are playing with that your keyboard is dying but the mouse just up and dies from one second to the next, so annoying

I totaly agree, I hate wireless mice and keyboards.

Unless you have a valid reason for moving it a real long distance away from the pc, it just feels like a system designed to suck up extra money on batteries. (even if you recharge them it still sucks up your time, and feels like a pointless waste)
