6 batteries a month! I go through 2 in 3 and I use it all the time. I love my mouse ~_^

I love it. I have far too many cables around my desk, and trying to do hardcore FPSs with a cable mouse is just far too hard, since there isn't enough room for the cable to move properly.

Really? I've only replaced my batteries (it needs two of them) once since I got the mouse in December.

My mouse is a Sidewinder X8 (a wireless mouse) and I've never detected any discernible lag, nor has it dropped out on me or died in the middle of match[footnote]Nor have I changed the battery. Play-and-charge for the win.[/footnote]. Plus the wireless actually makes my movements faster because there's no drag that you get normally from corded mice.

I used to have a Bluetooth mouse, and while okay for normal stuff, it didn't really hold up well for gaming. So I got the sidewinder and I'm sold wireless.

I use a wireless mouse and I love it. The wire always seems to be in the way

And since I have a recharging dock I never have to buy batteries.

Wired all the way, I hate having to rely on batteries. I also took care of the cable, so I barely notice it's there.

Pro's usually stick to wired though as laser mice react a tad slower than wired mice.

Fuck the pros! They're always making these miniscule changes that won't realistically have any effect on their reaction times or even be significant enough to outweigh the natural variation in their reaction times anyway!

I really never see the point of wireless, at least for myself. I'm sitting at a desk, using a desk-top. There's just no purpose and it's a waste of batteries.

Not all mice are created equal. Anything that needs the batteries changed more than once every few months is completely doing it wrong. Whether I use normal alkaline batteries or rechargeable NiMH ones, I only have to replace them every six months or so. I also don't have any interference issues (unless there's a sheet of metal between the mouse and receiver), because I got one that uses a different frequency from the other stuff in the house instead of using Bluetooth and having to fight with the wireless network and microwave and everything else at 2.4 GHz. Never had any problems playing games with it, either. It's plenty responsive (although I don't play any particularly twitchy games on a pro level), and I've never had the batteries die in the middle of a game (which does happen occasionally with my 360 controller and all the goddamn time with my wiimote).

I hate it. I got to worry about batteries, and it almost invariably happens that the batteries run-out when I'm about to get a head-shot.If they invent self charging, or may be, mouse pads that charge the mouse while I use it, just like the Power Mat charges the iPhone and stuff.

Can't stand them, mainly because they're a complete waste of batteries. I haven't had any problems with entangled or insufficiently long wires on my computer to warrant going wireless for keyboards or mice.

For all those complaining about battery consumption, my mouse has needed one change in about a year of owning it, so...

I love them, and keyboards, because cords and I don't get along very well.

You've got a bad mouse. Seriously, back when I had a wireless one, the batteries were needed say every two months, or longer. Plus, until the batteries were really low, it worked fine. The only problem is with connectivity. You don't want them dropping out at the wrong time. But I had a widget thing so, again, quite reliable.
So yeah, love it. But I don't have anything against wired mouses. (Mice?)

I've never tried it though i can deffinatly see the advantages. The thing that stops me from buying one is the fear of the battery dying right at the climax of an epic battle that lasted hours. Somehow the mere thought of that makes me love my wired mouse. Then again if i could remember to charge the damn thing it shouldn't be a problem.

So in short i don't hate em, i'm just fearfull of my own forgetfullness. (Is that even a word?)

Nothing wrong with wireless mice, as long as you get the right kind. My Razer is both wired and wireless and has the exact same response time when it's on wireless as when it's plugged in. The battery life is a little low, but it comes with a charger instead of having to buy new batteries.
I probably own the same mouse.
I have a Razer Mamba and it's great. It's wireless and can be wired if the battery runs out and it gives me three days of gaming so it's great.

But cheap wireless mice aren't good for gaming because they waste batteries unless you use non rechargeable ones.

Hate it.

As a FPS gamer, those few times a month/year when the mouse goes glitchy because the batteries run low when playing games is simply UNACCEPTABLE!!!

The only good thing about those wireless mouses is that you can throw them really, really far ;)
