I don't steal wi-fi, and I'm sure not many of us here do. I on the other hand am sure to have a long, convoluted, incoherent password that is just a random throw together of numbers at letters. It makes it near impossible to get it right.
aah, but then the inevitab..ineve...the time comes dammit when you will disconnect, or otherwise lose said password, and what then! HMM?

and, nice video?..I don't steal wireless :D, but I may be getting stolen from o_O
It's kind of hard to forget the password when I have it on a slip of paper taped on one side of my router.

And if someone is able to read that paper, I have a bigger problem than a stolen wireless signal.

If it's an open network and my local connection has died/is unavailable then I'll use it, and I don't feel guilty about it.

Never done it, cause i don't really have anything that can use it, apart from my crap-tastic old labtop, which can't hold batteries for mroe than 30 min anyways.
And most places i go have internet which they'll willingly let me use anyways.

I don't know if it's only in here, but in Finland, joining even non-protected networks became illegal if you don't have the owners permission.

This sucks because it's very easy to put up a protection, if someone can't do it, he/she should ask for help, and many people leave their wi-fis protectionless because they want it to be free to use.

Plus using someone elses wireless connection doesn't harm anybody, at least if you don't download anything big, which slows their use of net down.

It's strange how some people seriously compare it to walking into a neighbours house and stealing their TV.

Ninja removal services aren't cheap (never take a clan's Dragon Scroll.)
Speaking of, my WEP key is one of the few things to adorn my wall. It's affectionately placed next to a picture of me and my girlfriend. I respect the Key, as it is our salvation from those who would turn the Holy Internets against us.

Share and share alike you miserly bastards. I leave my connection open, I let other people use it. The reason? The vague hope that the *one time* that my net goes down when I need it, there are enough kind people with an open connection that I can get what I need to do done.

If my ISP is having technical problems (happens every now and then), I will opt to steal my neighbors' connections for a little while. This is only done in emergency situations though, because I only get about 35% connection, which slows even the fastest connection down to a crawl.
Same, every now and again my net and will go down, and my neighbor's is used until then. That's the only time tho, I have my own.

It's called "War driving"...
Sometimes needed, like when in the holiday the hostel won't provide the wifi they promised.

My wireless is password-protected so noone else can get on it, and I've never used someone else's connection without permission either.

Nope. Never stolen it, never had it stolen. I find it hilarious that anyone wouldn't know to make sure their wifi connection is secure.
