If she killed the horse humanely, I really don't care what business she got up to later with the carcass.

It most certainly shouldn't be illegal to make a fool of yourself.

Bitches be crazy.
Do mind, dicks be crazy, too. Just not in this story.
Yeah, I think I'm going to agree with this guy. I took a quick look, and she looked like she may have been dabbling in illegal substances. Or was just plain batshit crazy.

I'll keep that in mind next time I see a dying homeless person on the side of the road and feel like slicing them open and rolling around in a pile of their organs.

What?

It was already dead! Don't look at me like that...
It is also illegal to make a fashionable coat out of said homeless man or to eat him.
Fuck... And I really liked that jacket too...

I swear it's not my fault! Baldur's Gate II made me do it!

---

I personally see no issue with cannibalism, food is food and I'd try it if necessary, but yeah, not legal under any circumstance because humans are special.

Although, I don't think you'd really want to eat a sickly homeless person.. Probably would taste terrible and give you various diseases.

Okay, look, I'm just saying.

Do you know how animals in meat processing facilities are treated? Chickens have their beaks cut off because their living conditions literally drive them to insanity and they will attack themselves or each other. Cows killed by unclean slices across the throat and then left to bleed out over a period of hours while hanging by their toes. Piglets fed such a massive quantity of growth hormones that their legs break under their bodies and they languish in pain until they have their heads bashed in by workers who are hired to do just that, it happens so often.

You animal rights people want to get angry? Get angry at that. That is messed up. Write letters. Become a vegetarian.

This horse had a way better life AND death than ANY hamburger or bacon cheese or mcnuggets you have ever eaten, and you're a hypocrite.
I can agree with that, as it is, I consider most hunters (the ones who do so for food) to be much more humane by comparison.

Worst part is on top of all the other crap that happens to those animals is much of the meat gets thrown out anyway (by the meat processing places and the various restaurants and stores who serve them), so not only did they have a hellish life, but it served no purpose. As it is, it's not uncommon for them to put extra food out on display in order to attract customers, which they have no intention of actually serving. Such a waste of life.

She is creating art, obviously >_>

Maybe even win the turner prize like the guy who did this

I don't know if its already been posted, but something like this came to the Baltimore Science Center a while back....except it was humans. Link here [http://www.bodiestheexhibition.com/]

I'm all for freedom of expression, but something about this just REALLY creeped me out. Especially the fact that they decided to open the exhibit in a museum created for children.

IT should be a crime but what law is she breaking exactly? The "dont-climb-inside-dead-animals" law?

They shot it in the head, so it's not like the animal suffered. Otherwise it would simply be animal abuse.

Very reasonable responses. The first one especially. I just didn't like the idea of shooting an animal yourself because somebody else was going to anyway.
I can answer that one. Basically when a vet euthanizes they pretty much just give it a lethal injection. This means that the animal is now useless for meat. Plus even if the vet did do it in a humane way that would also not ruin the meat he would charge you a fortune. Literally I know from experience that getting a horse put down costs around $2000.
Alright, you guys beat me on that one. I'll concede that point. But the rest of my argument still stands!

Why should it be a crime?

Animal abuse is already a crime.
Ding ding!

We have a winner!

This kind of thread is very similiar to the Chinese toddler one.

I haven for outraged individuals to be outraged about something or other...
Killing a horse just for the sake of killing it isn't animal-abuse, though. Torture is, killing is not.
So if she wants to kill a horse she owns, and play around in the remains, it's her right.

I think it should be a crime to kill animals for purely recreational purposes, but if the horse was already scheduled to be euthanized...
I don't really know in this case, since I don't see how making money off of pictures of a dead horse should be worse than making money off of its meat.

The thought of it doesn't sit well with me though.

I don't even know why it doesn't. After all, I know there exists pictures of me covered in blood and holding the heart of a reindeer.

It's disgusting and I think she should see a psychologist about it but seeing as they killed it humanely and were going to eat it anyway I see any reason for her or her family to be arrested.

Also, to the people saying it's wrong of them to buy it just to kill it, farmers do that all the time with livestock.

Wow....

It shouldn't be illegal but god, that doesn't change the fact that the whole idea is a little.. fucking.. weird.

No, it wasn't, nor should it be, illegal. From what I understand, they owned the animal, it was old, they took it down humanely and for some reason they got it into their head that they wanted to feel how it would be to crawl inside of it.

Odd? Sure, but not illegal, or as some people here have said, "sick" or "wrong". Worse things are being done all the time for art, to cook "delicacies" or whatever. So no, what she did shouldn't be made illegal, and I don't find anything objectively wrong with what she did either.

why the hell not? It's her life.
This seems to be the presiding opinion in this thread.

Normally I'm all for "if they're not really hurting anyone, what's the problem?". However, I take objection in this case. I don't care what you say, this girl is obviously downright nuts, and she's roaming free on the same planet as me. That's what concerns me.

It was declining in health, so you gut it and pose with its insides??? 0_o

However, guess it's not a crime...unless this is some sort of beastiality(animal abuse) or illegal porn.
Still wierd though.

They put it down humanely, from what I understood.

They did not torture or otherwise abuse the living animal. What they did with the corpse was in rather poor taste, but since they obviously ate it themselves it's all good in my books. We usually limit the chopping, hacking, gutting and slashing to getting pieces of meat off the bones, but as long as the lady doesn't habitually crawl into dead animals, I see little reason for calling her sick or being troubled by it.

The American teen abusing the cat, the Chinese lady brutally killing cats, the girl throwing a bag full of puppies into the river or the messed up student girls cutting up a dog all qualified as being inhumanely cruel sick, this here really just is a wee bit odd. To be honest, I'm positive stuff like this happens all the time, all over the place. It's not like half-heartedly slitting the throat of a live animal or kicking live poultry all over the place. Animal cruelty does exist, and those people need to be punished. Horse lady here is not really part of that problem, is she.

Edited to add: The fact they bought it to murder it with a rifle is disgusting....A horse on my yard got put down by being shot...It was a botched job and took 3 bullets to kill him. Heartbreaking. I have no more words...
They used .300 WinMag. If you manage to botch that shot you're probably legally blind even with glasses.
If I was to go, I'd be keen for the .300 win.
I find the whole thing hilarious - the animal is dead = no harm done!
