The only way this argument would stand anything but a casual glance is if there was a 'strength' measuring stick that eliminated all but the body-building types. The fact males are stronger on average means squat when you consider that all males but those who are severely physically challenged are capable of getting into the military. No, the strength argument is Bullshit. While factually correct it uses this fact incorrectly to hide a simple truth that even you did raise: It is hard for a male to ignore that feeling that they should be protecting 'their females' and seeing one hurt causes distress.
That is the only reason they don't want woman in the military and it isn't a good one if you ask me. They need to man up, pun intended, and deal.
