yeeeeahh....

i think you have to rephrase your sentence, more like "new games should be made from the blizzard universe, wich one would you like made!!"

also, Starcraft??, it would work more like an MMORTS... since its an RTS!

That might be what it takes for me to finally break down and get an MMO and then pay for Blizzards 30th mansion.

WoW is coming to the end of its lifespan? Good luck with that!

OT. Anything is possible but I doubt Blizzard will make a World of Starcraft, it's not really a "World" for starters is it?

I know others have said it, but WoW isn't dying. It's far from dying. It has a userbase that just dwarfs every other MMO going. And with the release of cataclysm just around the corner, and all the new content that will offer, WoW is definately not dying.

As for WoStarcraft? Doubtful. I just dont see how it would work. As others have said, playing as an individual zerg who possesses free will, ain't happenin.

WoW is only going to be replaced by WoW 2. I seriously doubt they would make a world of starcraft, the races are just way too hard to split up into various classes and having three different factions would probably be really hard to manage/ make it a headache to get anything done for players. I mean look at how hard it is to get any kinda of decent guild together in WoW right now with only two factions, and you want to further divide the pool of players into 3?

Warcraft was/is really adaptable into the mmorpg setting because you have real general humanoids that can take up various RPG classes, but you go to starcraft and the units are really specialized and really don't play/fit into any kind of RPG role.
The scourge in wc III are simular to thier counterpart zerg. Think about it horde and alliance both fight eachother but both fight the scourge, and in starcraft both protoss and humans fight eachother but they both fight the zerg. So an mmo were the two races protoss and humans can be the two factions and thier commen enemy is the zerg. It could happen.

In what way is SC2's DRM draconian?
Having to log in once a month is seriously harsh man. I mean, that just plain old evil!
You misspelt day in a surprising fashion, it looks like "month" which of course is a much less harsh system than the actual one. While I wouldn't say evil I figured most people would get how it's draconian insofar as DRM can be draconian. Anyway what with my Internet being down for 10 days now the DRM has effectively turned the game into a doorstop.
You do realize that's a bug they are trying to fix right?

While it is completely fair to complain about a bug its not the intended limitation.

Complain about blizzard fucking up the offline mode and not implementing it right, not about a 'draconian drm' that doesn't exist. This is not some sneaky underhanded way to make people validate everyday. This is them screwing up with a mistake and trying to fix it.
Err yes exactly. Obviously they intended all along to let people play offline for 30 days, but they were disgusted, disgusted that somehow down to a mistake they ended up with a harsher system that benefits their goals. It's not at all that they planned to require constant Internet connection but claimed it had different requirements so as to prevent outcry, oh no.

Yeah Cataclysm is definately not a sign that the end of WoW is nigh it just means that its going to last longer because its now essentially a new game again. Alot of people haven't even finished with the first map so cataclysm leaves plenty to e explored.

I think World of Starcraft is a possibility but it seems unlikely for now seeing as their current MMO is still going strong and they are already working on a Starcraft project but if they do make World of Starcraft then I would imagine it would come at the end of the current series. If they were to make WoS then it would make no sense to aim for the same market they would have to make the game function very differently.

Bit harsh to say that WoW is coming to its end. MMOs don't die if enough people keep their subscriptions, and it'll be safe to say WoW will still be going for at least another decade. It's still the most popular PC game according to Xfire. There is no rush.

I'll be interested to see how anyone attempts to turn an RTS into an MMO, and End of Nations may prove to be that template.
Wasn't Warcraft originally an RTS?

OT: I would enjoy being a marine or void ray, but would anyone really want to play as a zergling?

Dude, let's take an older estimate:
10 millions times 20 (for the game) 200 millions profit without the monthly fees. Plus circa 150 million for the monthly fees... blizzard can whipe their ass with hundred dollar bills and never have to pay for toilet paper again.
Well, not 200 mil in profit. Developing a good MMO takes somewhere around 120 million give or take around 10 mil. Still, 80 mil is nothing to sneeze at.

Blizzard knows that WoW is comeing to the end of its life span they are throwing in expansions to increase time but eventually no one will play it. But what if Blizzard just jumps onto a MMORPG of Starcraft i know its a bit to take a handle of but think about.Blizzard makes tons of money with WoW when WoW finishes and is no longer profitable they might just clone WoW into another of there games World of Diablo, World of Starcraft. but this is a long way away of course its just i wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

So anyway do you think they will make more MMORPG's about there own games or do you disagree?

i discussed this in Borean tundra and someone also suggested that ' What if Starcraft and Warcraft got turned into the same game' i doubt it but still you never know.
I tend to think that Starcraft is already an MMO. How many people actually bought it for the campaign? Whenever someone asks me, I actually call it an MMORTS, it's actually a lot more true to say that than anything else.

Well if you all remember Warcraft was an RTS to begin with. *loved the orc minions* So could they make a World of Starcraft? yes, but you would be limited to playing things like a Terran Ghost, or a Protoss Archon. You couldn't really play as a zerg heroe. But I really think blizzard would and could do that if they thought it was profitable enough. Also if you remember back to Starcraft: Brood War one of the heros tanis had a unique flavor speech "This is not warcraft in space! it's much more complicated!"

Oh man, I hate to have to be the one to break this to you but Santa isn't real and your insurance company isn't genuinely interested in your peace of mind, they just want your money. It's not a conspiracy theory to think one person will lie for their own benefit, that's simple human nature. A conspiracy theory is when a large number of people with different motivations all tell the same lie.
