I was wondering what other people like to be Horde or Alliance in World of Warcraft

I used to play alliance until I realized I would rather play games that are fun.

Owwwww. That is harsh.

Anyway, I don't play WoW, thought I might enjoy it, but if I did I guess I'd play Alliance.

Most of my characters are Alliance but I'm levelling a blood elf hunter at the moment. I prefer not to be biased towards either though.

Either. When I played WoW, I've played both sides. I dislike most of the lore anyways, and find the majority of the books and in-game WoW lore pathetic and utter shit - including just about everything written by that horrible writer, Knaak.

Considering how I like Taurens, Trolls and Forsaken aesthetically and more or less in terms of lore, and how I like dwarves, gnomes, and to the lesser extent draenei - mostly aesthetically, and it doesn't apply to the latter alliance race... I guess I'm a horde guy.

You really got to agree, the whole "Ronin Redhair" character is one of the most pathetic creations out there, probably even below Edward Cullen or whatever the name of the vampire from Twilight is. Really, it's writers like this that make me hate about 80% of all fantasy and science fiction.

To me, my favorite "lore" in wow would be alternative take on Forsaken lore, which would probably be non-cannon. I don't see them as evil - being a moral relativist that I am - I think that they're most justified in their political stance. Plus, they're undead and not the retarded zombie kind. Smart undead who are not necessarily the generic idiotic "bwahahaha" villain type are my favorite, umm, "race" in fantasy.

Repressing urge to lash out.....I've loved his books since Legend of Huma. And how can you possible compare Ronin to bloody Twilight??

I don't play WoW, and know nothing about it. The Horde sounds evil though, so I'd have to go with them.

The Alliance are actually the original invaders. The Horde just wanted to live in serenity until the Allies came to fuck it all up.

Anyways, yeah. I played Horde, if only because Tauren are the best race in the game.

I play both, I have friends in real life that play both sides so its always fun.

I play both sides, and side with neither. Frankly, if the walls between the Alliance and Horde started to come down, I would be ecstatic. Hell, I'd side with the Goblins if they'd let me.

In internet debates like this, though, I side with Alliance. Partly because they seem to get few defenders, partly because I've never encountered a problem like the complaints, partly because the Horde players I encounter on the internet tend to piss me off. I think I'll trot out my usual spiel.

I play Alliance, simply because every jackass and a very few otherwise reasonable people I've ever listened to online say Horde.

Supposedly, the Horde has the more honorable characters, the more interesting story, the better PvPers, the more noble and helpful players, the best gear, the best raiders, the best baseball teams, the favor of Jeebus H. Buddha III himself, etc. These same people describe the Alliance as an open cesspit, infested with the dregs of humanity, whose pitiable ignorance of their lot in life is matched only by their unrelenting asshattery and noobishness.

These people, needless to say, can go jump in a lake. There is no huge difference inherent in the factions, and the only real social factor isn't determined by faction, but by server. RP servers forever, incidentally.

The two weeks I played for free, I was Horde. Because...Green is best? Yeah, 'cause green is best an' weze da Orks!

Wrong orcs I know, but I just loved the orcs when they were under the control of the Burning Legion. When they were all about grab, smashy, kill stuff an all tha'. And not the poor invaders turned refugees they are now.

Moon Guard here, Played on a regular server for a few seconds, before all the Mankirk's wife jokes got to me. I logged in a few days later in Orgrimmar to find "Salty" Balsak standing next to me, so I pretty much deleted that character.

So very true. Although my server does contain quite a lot of brilliant and very nice people on the horde side, as well as people who I would wish incendary based death to on the Alliance, still, a lot of the times I'd go and play horde I'd see about one discussion which would be a group of people complaining about how blood elves ruined the game and made their balls absorb into their body, ergo making them lose the ability to quit if it's so godda-

Steamwheedle Cartel, here (at least, usually, when I can run the game again). I think I started a character on a server called "Greysomething-or-other," but I took someone's advice and starting making characters elsewhere. I've yet to regret that decision.
