Fallout fanboys.
I never even knew they existed until around Fallout 3 came out, and the negative, poorly thought-out reactions to the third game made me kind of sick. Even before the game came out, it seemed like almost all comments I heard were about how it was just Oblivion with guns (a semi-true statement, to be fair) or how 1st person would ruin the game forever.
Now I've never played Fallouts 1+2 to be fair, but I have a difficult time imagining they are the shining beacon of perfection the fanboys claim them to be. I went to a Fallout community forum once, and the topics in the Fallout 3 section consisted mostly of: "Why Fallout 3 sucks," "Did Fallout 3 ever have a chance?", "Why I don't consider Fallout 3 to be canon," etc. I remember one thread dissing the game because the Enclave apparently only should've existed on the west coast, and it made no sense that it was in D.C. Fair enough, but then I read another about how the soundtrack in Fallout 3 sucked, because the songs were too obviously chosen and had no thought behind them, or something like that. It doesn't get much more anal than that.
I didn't mean to offend any of you, I'm sure Fallouts 1/2 were great games. But when a brand new developer pulls your favorite franchise from the grave and makes a brand new game, you ought to thank them, not endlessly complain that they didn't make it EXACTLY like the old games.
