I would say Capcom but...ah hell who are we kidding. They are becoming more horrible by the day but they are still no...

EA!!

And you know what I don?t even really view them as "evil" anymore Ever since that Valve story last week, gah I don?t know, they just come across as pathetic now.

But still dangerous

Just like a squatting parasitic loser uncle. They move in for a few days just so they can have a place to stay while they get back up on their feet; but if you don?t get on it they will be there for a month and while you?re at work they'll be using your apartment as a whore house. Then in a month you?ll have pimps breaking down your door as you are trying to clean up the place because it looks like a junk heap now...

Closing statement:
Thank god they finished with ME when they did (at least the Shepard trilogy) and ME only made it out with a mangled hand.

Yeah, but Valve is doing multiple games instead of Half-life 3 while Squeenix does only FF13 sequels other than revive classics.
No believe me, I agree. As much as I like Kingdom Hearts, I really have no positive bias toward Square Enix. They churn out absolute shit most of the time.

And I don't know why I like Kingdom Hearts, either. I only enjoy the KH canon, ie: Sora, Riku, Kairi, Organization XIII, etc.

I love a crossover of Final Fantasy and Disney, but I don't like Disney or Final Fantasy.

FF really needs to take a lesson from Old Yeller.

I don't really hate any of the companies, although there are some whos games I won't buy, such as EA, because the type of game they greenlight isn't the type I like to play.

Instead I'm going to go for a particular practice that a lot of developers do and irks me a fair bit. Namely, releasing a game that is used in an online capacity, then an expansion, then a sequel that is the same in all regards as the previous title but for one tiny thing, yet it is a required purchase if you wish to continue to play it online. See Dawn of War: Retribution and Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion for examples of this in action. Half-life episode 2/orange box is guilty of this as well.

Just plain pisses me off when they could have released a second expansion/ultimate edition or some such instead of forcing the costs onto their established fans for no reason.

I would defend this by saying they don't have to listen to their customers (plus, Valve does the exact same thing, verbatim) but... I wish Square would abandon Final Fantasy. It's just such shit and it gets in the way of my Kingdom Hearts.

Square Enix doesn't make games they just make interactive movies, to get the Square experience just watch Anime and every 10mins start randomly pressing buttons on a remote.

With that said making crappy games is hardly a breach of Principles or unethical business practices.
You know I watched a lets play of Azuras Wrath on Youtube to see the epic boss fights. Is that considered piracy?

I don't hate any of these companies, however I will pick Ubisoft as the worst here. It's a shame since they publish a lot of awesome games. However I don't like the way their PC customers are treated. They still give us good games, but they keep making statements that we are pirates and that only 1% of us have actually paid for their games.

Haven't they all made similar statements in the past?

I did read the OP. And I reject his sentiment, simply because the "principles" of every developer out there is centered around making money. Some do a better job at it than others, some are greedier than others, but the ends are the same for each and every one. I'm not going to bastardize EA like 300 other people have because they're guilty of wanting to make money.

I chose instead to list reasons why I would personally vote for Valve in that poll, because their products and the way they handle them are just as much an indication of their principles as anything else. Hell if people are going to vote EA for petty reasons like online passes, I'd say my subject matter is more than relevant to the discussion.

I could go back and respond to every point you argued against, and while it's tempting, I'm also a lazy bastard, so I'll just repost this portion of my previous post since you conveniently forgot to read it.

But really, alot of the above is just nitpicking or can be attributed to spite, anti-fanboyism, or above all else: opinion. I don't particularly hate any one developer. If they make a good game then that's really all I need to be satisfied. Still playing BF3 to this day, enjoying the "hellspawn's" creation. Still waiting for HL3. etc. etc.

It's really fun to see all the people hate Valve for the things they MIGHT do.

Also, 800th post ftw.

That's the way it goes around here.

A lot of people on this forum hate to see a developer other than Bioware, Bethesda, or Obsidian get any kind of love, regardless of whether it's deserved or not.

As such, most of them spend their time just looking for reasons to hate that other developer. Sometimes it's for legitimate (if nitpicky) reasons. Other times, it's for arbitrary bullshit they make up about it. (like you said: hating them because of something they might do)

You get used to the lunacy after a while. I've been on the forum since 2007 and, believe me, I've seen my fair share of bullshit statements from people. Many of them becoming the very foundation of an entire groups ire towards something.

At times, it's like watching a Westboro Baptist Church rally. Only, in this instance, most of the on-lookers actually start believing what the loons are preaching.

Oh, and congrats on your 800th.

valve.
They're the biggest DRM-provider/enabler on the scene, thus garnering most of my hate.

Possibly, but I haven't seen it. It's entirely possible that I have missed their statements about how all PC gamers are pirates and I can't say for sure that Ubisoft is alone in this, it is the only one I have noticed at least.

I'd have to say valve, their cheapening of intellectual property and stranglehold on PC gaming has made them nearly universally hated by REAL pc gamers.
How are they cheapening intellectual property by putting it on sale?

Honestly, Activision, EA and Ubisoft tied for me.

EA and Activision for general douchebaggery, and being a corporation before a games publisher. Pushing the same crap forward year after year ain't making me like you. TBH, EA is presently worse in my books so long as Blizzard remains relatively ok whilst a part of Activision. Once Blizzard is gone, EA wins for having generally a better focus towards PC with their games, and the two become tied thanks to killing companies I loved in the name of business.
Ubisoft must die for the DRM and general distasteful attitude towards PC players. I will never knowingly purchase a Ubisoft game whilst this keeps up, because of how hard it will be for me to enjoy it.

I believe he was making a joke about EA's statements that Steam sales cheapened the games intellectual property.

Well in light of the founders of Bioware suddenly leaving does anyone else think it had at least partly something to do with EA and their practices / principles? Can we assume everyone is in agreeance with that?

I personally think EA puts the EA in dEAth at least for game companies.
