if people stopped making clones of GH then there goes a certain part of the gaming market we need clones to carry on games other wise we would all be stuck never progressing.
making clones is progress. is your brain located below your waist?

and im guess you're going to go argue the point 'well you're just spouting how games should be fun it doesn't matter about the quality' then let me bring up retro games like the N64 or nes the quality back then was shit and you talk about games there were all rip off's did you complain that golden-eye and perfect dark were pretty much the same of course you didn't because it was all about fun as you went one on one with your mates or family for marathon long games like first to 100 kills or no kill limit but a 90 minute timer as you battle it out.
I don't know what you just said but I think it had something to do with old games being more fun. well duh, everything is more fun the first time you do it.
since when was fun not a measure of quality?
HD graphics are bad for games, because they make development more expensive so they have to all be lucrative rip-offs
game companies could turn down the graphics and put out some original IP's it would be a good thing.

to sum up i believe that clones are necessary to the gaming environment as clones allow many companies to start there life into the gamin world they also keep certain genre's alive do you think RTS would be around if the best one wasn't cloned.
no, cloning is not progress, a headless chicken could tell you that.
cloning is the opposite of progress, it's stagnation

you're missing the point with your point and click game comment
Monkey Island wasn't Grim Fandango with Pirates.
all the point and click games had unique stories
all the new mainstream FPS and third person shooters and what have you, all tell the exact same "you are good, they are bad, kill them" story line and Identical gameplay. and God awful gray brown graphics.
(don't say Bioshock and Halflife, I'm not talking about 100% of games just 99%)
it's not the same as the point and click games.

and also really you're trying to bring intellect into the fight what are you 7 or something as if you just want to insult each other then i think you missed the whole point of civilized arguments of bring different points across and just turned it into a basic school boy/girl(im not sure what you are) fight where we just insult each others mum's until on of us eventuality pushes the other and then all hell breaks loose
you really want to call me seven?
your argument seems like it's coming from a cow pie that's been sitting on a dirt road for a week
"Stagnation is progress" is worse than "Mediocrity can be entertaining"
and the kicker is that you're trying to say "Original thinking is bad" I don't think the crap of a brain damaged skunk would say that.

oh and "your mom is so fat that when she sits around the house, she really sits around the house."

oh yeah, it's on now.

Other than that, I really don't care what perk, weapon, or attachment people use; My class can beat just about any strategy/class they throw at me.
What are the odds of you beating a Boomkin? Especially if its critical strike chance is over 9000?

Honestly, I played it in my friend's dorm room a few days ago for the first time. And I just didn't see what was so appealing about it. It's the same fucking thing as the first Modern Warfare. Why would you throw 60 more dollars at Infinity Ward to continue to produce the same shit with virtually no change in ANY gameplay mechanic?

This IS NOT intuitive game design. This IS NOT revolutionizing gaming, or FPSs for that matter.

It's regressing any progress made by actual games (like Portal and Fallout 3 where the gameplay is interesting and somewhat intuitive) because all Infinity Ward is doing is showing you can a huge, substantial profit by producing the same shit as ever. What publisher wants to risk asking a developer to produce something interesting, yet risky when all they need to do is make the same shit that's been made for the past 5 years.

So the thing I hate the most about it, is well, its existence. Perhaps if it had been new or refreshing I wouldn't be so scornful.
Damn, your right, don't want to mess with Boomkins. But I got it only because all the other new fps's multiplayer were just as bad, might as well play the one with the most noobs right?

It's not quite the same game; maps are more unbalanced, campaign is worse, and If you're like me, more than a third of your kills are from overpowered killstreaks, some of which are just impossible to avoid (AC130 on Wasteland ftw).

But yes, its exsistence and its popularity is the main problem. Most developers don't care about how intuitive their game is, only how much money it will make. Because of the successof CoD, we've seen FPS series with good potential like Resistance ruined because Insomiac tried to make a game similar to CoD. What we got was not Resistance 2, a game with the same unique gameplay mechanics as the first one, but instead Halo 4: CoD Edition. It was a game with several insta-kill weapons, no multiplayer balance, easy campaign, the ability to have only 2 weapons at once, clusterfuck game modes etc etc.

A shame Resistance: Fall of Man wasn't as popular as Halo or CoD, all developers would be copying R:FOM's flawless multiplayer instead of the pile of crap that is MW2's poor excuse for online.

I think you're missing one crucial fault with the game: the story.
I honest loved COD4's story
But MW2's just didnt seem to live up to COD4's
They tried to hard to capture the raw spectacle of it
And no jumping a 500ft gorge with a freaking snowmobile isnt realistic

Stop yourself.

Do you use "modern" guns to fight "modern" enemies?
Do you fight the Russians and Arabs in the campaign mode?
Is there multiplayer where you point your gun at some one else and hold down the "bang" button faster than they do to win?
Are the maps generally really bad and not coherent for any but those who have played the game for over two months?
You can stop me at any point....
Is it made by Infinity Ward?
Does it have the words "Call of Duty" or "Modern Warfare" in the title?
Does it have unbalanced online game mechanics that don't take into consideration skill, and just use, more or less, dumb luck?
I think you get the idea.

It's the same game. Yeah, it's been given a fresh coat of paint. Yeah, they added a few fans to the room. But at the end of the day, the room still smells of the same shit that Infinity Ward's dog took in the corner. And no matter how hard the fans blow, they can't get rid of that spine shivering scent.

Btw, I'm digging that fan pun.
