Why? Because they're better than you?awesomeClaw said:Yes a hundred times for me.
Wow man. Get head-shot a lot? If sniping is really ruining the FPS genre for you that much, then the FPS genre probably isnt for you. Sniper Rifles have been a staple since basically forever. You could just as easily make a case for a developers to remove shotguns entirely. Or grenades. Or -gasp- AR's.xDarc said:lol- 70% of people said no! I really wish some major shooter would come out someday that would just flat out refuse to have it and make all these people cry. They contribute next to nothing to the multiplayer experience. They just sit/lay their character down, go into their scope, and play the hottest newest FPS game evar OMG!... they play it like a fucking flash game or like it's duck hunt.
If it was duck hunt, they'd be the people who put the gun right up to the screen.
Just for once, I'd like to see a company take a stand with this shit and not have it. Or at least give the option to run your server without them and not lose your ranked status. That would at least be a start to pissing these people off.
Good!MasTerHacK said:HELL NO!
Then I would have no reason to play. I can't play without being the sniper(mostly) and this would ruin any game for me.
I can agree with this.wfpdk said:sniping shouldn't stay out of a game, but snipers should be in sniper only matches.
Balanced? How is it balanced? Any player even remotely good will dominate with the sniper rifle, and I don't think they should get such a huge advantage just for being the first one to the weapon's spawn.Phenakist said:I disagree, in Halo every weapon is balanced, they all have they're right and wrong uses, the sniper takes some serious skill if not practise to use it "properly" when no/quick scoping due to it's pin point accuracy, normal sniping it's fairly easy to find the sniper unless they keep moving and due to the scope getting knocked off when you get hit they are fairly easy to kill if you get a couple of shots in before they swap weapons.TheTaco007 said:No. The only game I can see improving without snipers is halo, cause whoever gets the sniper rifle pretty much gets free 1-hit kills until they run out of ammo. CoD snipers are good, as are Bad Company 2 snipers.
It's balanced because all the weapons have specific uses.TheTaco007 said:Balanced? How is it balanced? It's in every FPS game because warfare since the invention of the bow has always had snipers in some form so it's logical to have it in the game, that's like saying you can have a racing game without wheels. How is being a sniper a handicap? Sure, sometimes a lot of people try, but how many people are actually good at it and get kills consistently. Before you rage, consider that every other player has an unfair "advantage" on the eyes of most other players because people are naturally whiny.xDarc said:HORSE SHIT.Hazmatdeath said:It's just a different style of gameplay.
It's in every game now because devs/publishers know that if they make a multiplayer FPS game without accommodations for the FPS-handicapped- i.e.(snipers), people won't play. It's no longer a style. It's taken the fuck over.
Well, a large part of that is merely to say that I'm helping.maninahat said:As interesting and selfless a tactic as this is, it is pointless. Whilst you are essentially taking the enemy snipers out of the game by distracting them with pointless targets, you are also taking yourself out of the game by spending so much time, setting them up. It doesn't offer much of an advantage.Erana said:I may actually be doing whatever I can to distract them in order to protect my teammates. I'd probably be dismissed by that sniper a stupid n00b for trying to build the same turret over and over right in their line of sight, but that's an extra second in which my teammates can get to cover, isn't it? Unless there are multiple snipers, a tactical turret needs only a few seconds to be able to withstand a noncharged shot- then a few more to weather a charged shot, and then hinder the sniper's entire team.
Really, though, if a sniper's making an absolute killing off the other team, they're not displaying their skill to their peers- they're being an asshole whose playing against people obviously not to their skill level.
Same goes for every class and every weapon in every multiplayer game: if you're dominating the enemy team, either go find people up to your skill level, play as something else, or find a way to not ruin the fun of everyone else while doing what you're doing.
I don't know about that but I do know that many games need to balance their long range weapons better.RedMenace said:Suuuuure.
Because running and spraying bullets is the only legitimate way of playing any FPS. Anything else is for a "f*ggoty a$$ cheating n00b b*tches".
