We don't need a remake. We have the original. It still works awesomely and you can download it from the PSN(when it's up). The original is fine, and there's nothing a remake could add to the original to make it any better than just updated graphics. While that sounds cool, think of all of the ways they could screw up Final Fantasy 7 in a remake. Look at the last 2 FF games... We've got FFXII which had some of the worst storytelling I've seen in such a large, expensive, and anticipated game (Note that I am not saying it's a bad story, just that it has bad story structure) and then we've got FFXIV... A game so terrible they actually APOLOGIZED FOR IT and restructured the company. The FF games have been going downhill and I sure as hell don't want them to mess up one of my favorite FF games. It could end up being everything we could ever dream it to be, but I've found when you get your hopes up too much, they usually end up crushed. So why don't we stop asking and just say "Thank you for making such an awesome game, we're content with it the way it is." If you stop begging for a remake and just love the game you've got, chances are, if they ever do remake it, they will be more likely to keep it close to the original. So let's stop pushing them and just say thank you for the brilliant work they did in the past. You encourage good deeds, they're more likely to repeat them.

As far as PSN goes, Sony had no way of predicting such a large attack on them. They made some mistakes and they are very sorry for them; and, I'm sure, are working on fixing them as we speak. They're already giving us some stuff to compensate us, and in my opinion, that's more than they needed to do. All they need to do is get their shit back online with better security, but, no, they're giving a month of free PSN+ or whatever, and from what I've heard, are giving a selection of 2 out of 5 PS3 games. That's really something. Let's be thankful for all they are doing, instead of pressuring them for more.

I'd rather them make something new that I actually want to play. Not some rehash of yet another old ass game, that's about all we get any more...rehashes.
