1. I don't blame Sony, I blame the punks who started this.

2. I already have FFVII, why would I want a remake of it, it was good the way it is (for the most part).

3. I don't have a PS3.

I don't need THAT much to forgive Sony, but if playing guilty is what it takes for Squenix to do it, then I'll act like a spoiled child for months.

But in truth, no, I don't really blame Sony. Yes, they sorta "challenged" Anonymous when they said they were nothing but a minor annoyance (never, EVER challenge Anonymous), but still....

What exactly is Anonymous? Sounds like some kid that spends too much times at his 6 monitor set up that uses hacking sites as a form of trolling. What happened to papaer? Like recording customer info onto papaer than filing it away or placing it on closed servers that can only have access to the web if you flip on the wifi switch? Anonymous just sound like the League of extraordinary Bitches. Besides, are they that big a deal? It's not like their the SS, or the cyber SS, or a joint SWAT & Cyber SS.
Not really, but they're... you know, Anonymous. I could be an awesome hacker, do some nasty stuff and then pose as part of Anonymous (which many say is exactly what's going on) and nobody could prove me wrong because nobody knows who the hell is part of them.

Whether they're extremely talented hackers or some 12 year-old kid in his mom's basement trolling the net (or both), Anonymous shouldn't be messed with. Ask anyone who entered 4chan to stir some shit.

if they did it faithfully and only added stuff instead of attempting to "improve" it such as a 99 level dungon for the fun of it, etc.

i would likley buy a PS3 for that if it was PS3 exclusive.

The way you put it, Anonymous is more like the nuclear shield from the Cold War instead of an organized cyber syndacite

So only:
1. Better Graphics
2. The voice cast of Advent Children
3. Isaiah Mustafa as either Barret, Cloud, or that black agent of SOLDIER who was partners with that redhead

hmm.... who is Isaiah Mustafa? the same sound very lion-kingy.

pretty much yeah on 1-2 tho..

the combat system was just fine in 7 as was the other elements, mostly.

Remember Crisis Core really freaking aswm Summon Scenes? id really like to see each of the FF7 summons in that kind of brillance. Bahaumet Zero remains my favorite Summon of all time just beacause of how over the top origonal he was. ill admit the super Baaaaa in Core was cool too tho... a little too over the top there tho... but cool to watch never the less.

i already forgave sony, speaking of which why is it that people demand some form of material/financial compensation before they'll forgive someone for whatever grievance?

better graphics does not equal better asthetic

that said i'd would rather they don't go the route of a blatant and cyncial cash grab by remaking it, part of the games charm is the visual and audio asthetic of the time it was made in, take that way and what do you get?

Because a majority of gamers have a tendencies to be bitches that'll go flame on forums about how bad the game sucked before DLC comes out and they come crawling back.

And most corps only care about money, their dumb not to profit off of our nostalgia

Remaking FF7 would probably make me go into a rage.
BUT! I will admit that secretly, I want it for the voice acting.
What if we update the graphics and get a voice cast starring Isaiah Mustafa. Isaiah could be either Barret or Cloud, or anyone. Isaiah's like ketchup, he's good in anything he does, even if it's crap.
Hey we gotta get Steve Blum in there too. I am gonna go with the vampire dude who got a spin off (dirge of cerberus) who for some reason I can't remember his name.

And no why would someone elses game help me forgive them? It makes no sense

If Square Enix re-released FFVII I might forgive them for the atrocity that was FFXIV.
Sure, refuse to remake your most popular title to invest in 'new profitable ventures'... that totally worked out, didn't it.

The vampire you're thinking of is Vincent, and i will only except it if Starkiller is his voice actor

Yeah it's someone elses game, but making it a PS3 exlcusive and charging it at $40 for the regular price should be giving some major apology to the peoples

Isaiah would make the best Cloud

HOW FUCKING HARD IS IT TO UNDERSTAND THAT NO FUCKING MEANS NO! GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!

And Sony doesn't owe me jackshit. They've been giving me a service that has all in all been fairly fucking good for 5 years. When I think about it, I'm the one that owes them.

Cloud is not emo. I am really sick of explaining it on this forum. No I doubt remaking FF7 would make people forgive Sony although it is the logical decision for SE given their recent troubles.

They could at least auction the IP to the highest bidder, which would either be EA or...

NOPE, NEVER MIND, KEEP IT!

Well SE has milked it badly enough. I don't want to see it further milk by a publisher like EA or Activision and turned into a FPS.

It would if Sony were responsible. As it is, it's Square Enix. It would be enough for me to have a bit more faith in them. I still like their games, but I haven't seen them make a truly incredible Final Fantasy since X, and I think the last game I absolutely loved from them at all was The World Ends with You. I really liked XIII, but it wasn't amazing.

Point is, no, it wouldn't. Sony's sins are far too deep and wide for that to happen, and Final Fantasy VII would in no way be their responsibility, so they would get no love for it outside of a few more people buying a PS3. I would freaking love a Final Fantasy VII remake, more than you could possibly imagine, but it would do nothing for my opinion of Sony.

Also, people need to stop terming Cloud as emo. Seriously people, he was never emo until Advent Children, but if we're going to complain about that we're starting to get into "emotional problems are stupid" territory, which is just bad storytelling principles. He had a genuine emotional struggle in Advent Children, and he wasn't emo in VII. So stop that. While we're at it, I think it's time we stop equating any Japanese character with emotional issues as "emo." It's stupid and getting old.

Don't you mean Square? And as for remaking Final Fantasy VII, no. I would much rather'd see it go towards making a step forward in the series as opposed to stagnating it. The more people that compare every Final Fantasy game to VII, the more likely that the series will keel over and bite the dust, and a remake to Final Fantasy VII is just going to accelerate that process.

As for Sony, it's not really their fault. Well, even that depends if you take into account what perspective you look at it. If you think about how lax their security system was, well yeah, it's probably worth calling them out on that, but there's no way in hell they could've seen the outage coming, let alone the stealing of personal information. At least Sony is willing to make amends for that.

Now if only Kevin Butler were to do PS3 commercials like the Tony Hayward "We're Sorry" PSAs from South Park, then all will be forgiven. :p
