If there were adds related to gaming, such as trailers, that would be awesome. Id just hate to see completely unrelated and irritating adds for things like car loans or washing maching powder.

I am OK with before/after video adds, I am OK with adds on the side. What I am most definitely NOT FUCKING OK WITH is having adds that pop up and obscure my entire screen in the vain hope that I will accidentally click it and have myself redirected!
They have ads, and the pub club members do have the advantage of no ads. What is this thread even about???
Anyways, I personally don't think that ads woulds solve anything. The Escapist is a business and as such it should know how to manage its finances. If it can't pay the bills it needs to cut costs. Its a matter of not spending more then they have first and increasing their income base when they have stabilized the situation.

Seriously, the mods should just lock this thread or clarify their position. It's bait for moderating people who don't realize ANY support of adblock is grounds for moderation. The number of people being warned should be an indication.
I mean really, if you give people a choice on an issue, and one of the options they can choose will get them moderated, you should make it clear this choice is not an option and they shouldn't select it.
Also I would LOVE for a mod to explain to me how adblock is stealing, but not paying employees for 14 months is not stealing. Just throwing that out there before anyone quotes me and goes off on a tirade about how the warned people are contributing to the fall of society and steal money out of the mouths of the escapist, etc.
