No way. I really don't like the first two, so there's no way I'd be buying a third. Unless it wasn't as simplistic as the other ones. The games are just way too shallow, and thus boring, for me.
The simplicity was the point of the games, and they have to be played multi-player for them to be as good as they can be. If the gameplay was to complex then when things get frantic (as they do a lot) then the game may end up being more annoying.

O/T: I really don't know, I loved the first game...Until It caused a Bios error on my laptop....Grr Arrg, and I've not played much of the second (which I play on x-box) Mainly because I haven't had Live access to play online and when I have my rustiness results in me getting booted...impatient assess.
And to be honest I don't know what a 3rd game could offer. There's not much of a story to continue in the grand scale of things so...

Of course I would buy it. There aren't many other first person shooters with such a tight focus on co-op. Valve is the shit.

I'd buy it in a second, even knowing it's going to be basically the same game with a few bells and whistles. I played the original Left 4 Dead heavily for about six months and Left 4 Dead 2 for about three, and I suspect I'll get that three months of interest out of every sequel they make. Left 4 Dead games can be made on the cheap, since the entire game consists of less than 20 game maps (Half Life 2 had over 50) that by placing enemies randomly in response to character feedback require significantly less time to populate with NPCs than traditional maps.

Currently Left 4 Dead 2 is being kept not-quite fresh by showcasing a variety of gameplay mods called "mutations" that make small hit-or-miss tweaks to gameplay, but the real draw of a sequel is going to be a new batch of quality map packs in a different series of locations, and a new cast of survivors. What I would like to see is a larger cast (pick your favorite four) with the option to have more or even less players in game at once, and the difficulty scalable so sometimes you need eight or sixteen survivors just to get through. Maybe NPC escourt missions or play as non-immunes, so that getting incapacitated brings you back as an infected.

In a bloody heartbeat! I love L4D and L4D2 and we need a new installment, with new characters for me to love (like Nick & Francis) or really really hate (like Ellis & Bill).

FUCK TO THE NO.

There better be tons of free content to L4D2 before that. Cuz they assfucked L4D1 and lied through their teeth the wretched fucks.
They didn't really though, did they? I personally don't see two new campaigns, both with story development, as an 'assfuck'. And lets not get into all that 'L4D2 should've been free' argument because it was all a bit silly to be honest.
Thats just my opinion though.

I don't know.

I haven't even played Left 4 Dead 2 yet! I'll probably be renting it soon.

If Valve does make Left 4 Dead 3, I'd at least rent it.
How do you rent a game that needs to be bound to a Steam account to play? o,0

Only if it includes more characters, and I mean A LOT more. I'm talking Gordan Freeman, Chell, Alyx, Duke Nukem, Link, Mario, Samus Aran, Master Chief, Captain Price, John Marston, Niko Bellic, Roman Bellic, Kirby, Kratos, Nathan Drake, and Commander Shephard. (did I miss anyone?)
And let's not forget the likes of non-video game characters such as Morgan Freeman, Chuck Norris, Jesus Christ, Barack Obama, and others.

So in other words, "No."

Nah, the most fun I've had with the series was on the very first demo just holed up in a room with all my friends just shouting. Will always remember that :3, but the full game itself just felt like it didn't add anything more I would of had more fun just with the demo alone.

LOVED L4D1...L4D2 not so much...the sequel felt like it was designed to be more annoying. Both the level design and the new characters.

I'd wait till its on sale and buy it. The first 2 games were good but since I don't know anyone locally to play it with, It's not quiet as enjoyable (why do so many pub people have to be giant douches?)

I just don't like the L4D series which is weird considering I'm a sucker for zombie games and for co-op games (hence my fav game ever being killing floor)

I played the first one on a mate's pc, I don't know why but it just didn't cut it for me. It felt like something was missing. The game just didn't cut it for me. I basicly didn't enjoy playing it.

Then L4D2 came allong, I thought maybe this one got it right... It didn't. I played the demo and I got no sitisfaction whatsoever from it.

They aren't bad games but the series had its chance to impress me so no I wouldn't buy it.

Well I never bought either of the first two, so I honestly doubt it. Fun games though.

Mhe maybe, I didn't like the versus maps on L4D2 so I went back to L4D1, so wouldn't be in a hurry to buy the third game.

I'd definitely buy it, but not until it's on sale and only if the Magnum is still in it. Nothing I love more than punching a hole right through a Zed with a shotgun shell in a hand pistol.

Seriously, I will. But it needs to have characters as fleshed out and generally likable as Ellis, Coach, or any of the first game's Survivors. None of this Rochelle shit - she never talks about anything but whatever's right in front of her, and mostly parrots Coach's taglines.

And for god's sake don't let anyone who worked on the Swamp Fever campaign near the level design team.

I rented the first one and enjoyed it a lot for the week I kept it, and never played the second. So, probably not but maybe
