Well, while transgendered people have totally valid issues, not everyone is so concerned with their gender.

Honestly, I feel as though I'd be fine as either gender. The only thing that really attaches me to my gender is that straight women are more common than lesbians, and therefor easier to find.

It's possible, although a lot of people simply take their own gender (and a lot of other things in life) for granted, as I doubt there are as many people in the world who are truly gender neutral as they would claim.

If you think about it though fully biological functions would probably include the proper brain chemistry to think your body is correct, which was one of the qualifiers for a lot of people, they don't want to fuck with their brains. Still the percentage of people that would do it is way higher then expected, people aren't completely thinking it though.

Exactly, it's a bigger issue than most people think about. There are all sorts of implications to being a ginny pig. Who ever did it would be the first and would have no idea how such a change would affect them.

I borrowed your quote and bolded the thing that bothers me most about society today. I absolutely value my masculinity, I wouldn't know why anyone would be open to such change readily.

Just saying, if you were a "perfect human" in every way except your gender was different, (as if you had been born that way) you would still be perfectly normal. I'd probably do that just to see what it's like. (I do science.) Giving me 5 million dollars to do that is just a way to lose extra money.

Five million dollars is a good pile of money, but Jesus, think of the can of worms you just opened to get it. Every piece of identification you own is now, at best, completely invalid. Even your birth certificate is wrong. Real-world transexuals have problem enough with that sort of thing, and you're getting aliens involved in the whole ordeal. How long is that going to stay quiet?

In my life alone, I've already got a sister, so I pretty much know what I'd look like if I chose 'yes.' But gender amounts to more than just what you use when you want to take a leak. It-

If it was a "change your gender for X amount of time," my answer might be different, even if it were a lower quantity of money, but as it stands? Nah. Too much for too little.

I guess it would depend on how complete the transformation is. If you just become the opposite gender for all intents and purposes, then sure. 5 million goes a long way.

However, if it is a complete, 100% transformation, then no. As in changes to brain chemistry. Males and females have very different sets of hormones and chemicals, and switching out the "mix" your brain has been using since puberty for an entirely different set seems like it could really mess up your personality.

Like how guys taking estrogen pills or women taking testosterone pills start having personality problems, except the whole nine yards.


Basically, if there was some way to ensure that my brain remains the same with the gender change, then sure. 5 mil is 5 mil.

If not, then heck no. I like who I am, mentally and emotionally. Not going to risk it.

I can't personally say I would do it simply for the money. I need more motive than money to become a female. Are the aliens going to kill me if I don't do it? Are they going to blow up the planet? Are they simply going to find someone else? If either of the former, then yeah, I would happily go female. I'd rather be a female than be dead. But if they're simply going to just, find someone else and ask them, then I'd prefer to remain male.

And I quoted this guy because that's the kind of transformation I would want(I couldn't figure out how to word it myself). I, too, like who I am, mentally and emotionally, so if I can keep my brain intact with the transformation, I would do it willingly. However, if I'm going to lose who I am, then who I am is essentially being killed anyway, so I'll refuse even if they're gonna kill me or destroy the planet.
