Lower salary (on average).
Actually, I remember from a time I was speaking with a tenured economist family friend of mine that some economists and researchers suggest that, when you control for profession, either incomes are essentially equal or women tend to earn a very small, probably insignificant bit, more than men. The discrepancy actually arises because women tend to enter fields with lower average incomes. Now, is this because women tend to enter professions based on expectations of pregnancy and/or family life, while men tend not to? Possibly. Of course, my economist friend also suggested that all people are essentially independent agents...
But I digress.
Well, I certainly have an interesting perspective on men based on my life as one, so being a woman could prove interesting. I've always been more of a nurturer type too, and being a chick could make entering such fields easier. 5 million bones wouldn't hurt either.
On the other hand, I feel extremely strongly that boys need stronger and more positive male role models, and I feel that swapping sides would be little more than running away from that perceived problem.
If I were selfish, I'd do it. If I were altruistic, I'd stay as a guy. This requires further analysis.
