Eh, I'd stay here. It'd be stupid, but it's comparitively fairly small.

If I had to move, I'd go to New Zealand. On the other hand, I think it'd be preferable to pick up New Zealand and move it here. Or create a new city midway between the two and live there.

I already kind of want to leave Australia. Only problem is I don't know where I would move to...
I have the same problem. I was considering Canada personally.

OP: As you may guess I would indeed leave at the first sign of this happening, as I hope to anyway.
Actually I really love both countries and if I do ever immigrate, it will be to either of those. The Australia-gaming-ban-thing would be bad, but then so is my French, so it's swings and roundabouts. Although I hear from StBishop that the situation in Australia is beginning to clear up.
Move to Alberta then.
We hate the french of Quebec as much as the English hate the normal French.

Canada and New Zealand are apparently very similar from what I've heard of a few exchange students I've talked to in high school and university.
Also, Alberta is where the jobs are at /flex

Fuck... I should get into advertising

Good lord, that's certainly not worth defecting over. Besides, I'll be spending plenty of time overseas in the coming years. I won't need to renounce my country or my hobbies because of a stupid law.

None of the above, if gaming was illegal I would stay in my country and I would play games as much as I want. As far as obeying laws goes I will generally follow at all possible times, however if the breaking of that law doesn't involve any negative side affects for anyone other then me I will base my decision on whether to follow that law on my own past experience and knowledge. So I'd still play the games I want to I would just do it discretely and not talk about it as much.

If the US government decides that they can control our personal live, hobbies, and interests, we've lost the ideals of freedom that our country is about. If it comes to that, there will be no reason for me to stay.

Sorry for my lack of Knowledge on the German banning of games, guess we hear alot of crazy stuff up here in Denmark ;)

They did however still ban some games, and even though they aren't all "Must play" games, I'd be pissed at my government. But if you can just buy the games from Amazon, I guess it doesn't really matter.

As much as I love gaming, I have too much I'm interested in. It'll give me time to have fun doing something else more.

No, I wouldn't defect from a country if they banned gaming. I might defect TO a country that banned it, and then I may actually do something more worthwhile. :p

Yes I'd move but then again a country that bans gaming has probably gone overkill in other areas to.

I'd stay and fight the powers that be, If anyone comes to take my games they are going to get one hell of a fight on their hands. I was willing to shoot people for the crappy pay the army gave out, you had better believe I'd kill your stupid arse to keep my games.

Seriously I don't really know what I'd do with out access to games I'm really ill, so I'm stuck at home most of the time. I'd go totally mental with out games to distract me.
Lucky the cops here are pretty crap at armed response, I'm pretty sure I could take them, not that it would ever come to that New Zealand is not the sort of country that passes such stupid laws.

Heh I was just reminded of an AOS call out a couple of years back the cops had to enter a building to take out a man they though might be armed.
The guy with the M4 carbine was on the roof acting as a sniper, the guy going in first looked like he had a bloody M1 and the guy with the shotgun was going in second. Did they pull their weapon assignments out of a bloody hat or something. Doesn't really inspire confidence.

No, I would just find a way to get around it, and in turn become a hipster.

"But gaming is banned here."
"Not surprised you've not heard that you still could. Well that's because it's underground."

I will have to move, since it is a part of my job.

And of course I could find another job but then I'm still not allowed to game

No, I'd stay and start protesting and/or rioting.

I'm not paying good money and leaving all my friends and family just to play videogames. That said, I believe it is my right to play videogames and so I will get very angry if it is banned.

God, this poll is depressing. The number of people who say that they would leave all their friends and their family behind just for a computer game? Sheesh.

There's no way I could justify to myself leaving my entire life behind for something as immaterial as a mere hobby.
